| General Overview | Rueben is a strong capable man, who is deadly loyal to the people around him. He can come across as far too serious and too proud because of how deeply he loves Star Fleet and what it stands for but deep down he is a warm and fiercely protective of people and would fight to the end for the people he love. He never wanted to have to choose between his oldest friend and his fiancée but the universe forced his hand when he was taken from the shuttle by Barton’s kidnappers leaving the rest of his away mission left for dead, it has made him a cold man. History
| Personal History | Born in Moscow in 2359 he had a normal childhood and school life. His father when he was 12 moved them from Moscow to London with Starfleet intelligence. The new environment made Ruben interested in tactics which made him want to join Starfleet as a security officer. He passed the exams in 2377 having a very normal academy experience met a few girls but nothing major. He joined the USS Bismark in 2379 for Academy assignement. He stayed there for next two years trying to stay out of trouble until he received a promotion for his actions in the line of fire. With the promotion he was offered the Victory where he stayed for the next six years enjoying the feeling of being settled and working in a job he loved. In 2385 he was recalled to Earth by Starfleet intelligence to help find his father, in the mission which took three months he earned another promotion and the promise of XO on the Victory when it came up when Dragou retired. He returned temporarily as Chief of Security, his world was changed instantly by a chance meeting with a woman in the lounge. For all his confidensce, the tiny, beautiful woman who came up to him stole his voice and he didn’t know how to talk to her. Jeassaho was determined despite his reluctance due to his pending position to date the younger officer but there was something about her that he just couldn’t get out of his mind, something that sung to everything that was inside of him. It took him seeing her talking to someone he knew was completely inappropriate for him to do something about her. It nearly all came undone when it was revealed he was the new XO of the ship, Jeassaho didn’t want anything to do with him for weeks. He was as determined as she at the beginning to win her back. The relationship carried on for three more years, becoming more and more solid and stable. It was when the warp core nearly breeched in early 2387 when he could hear her being stupidly brave in Engineering that he realised he couldn’t live without her. He got up his courage and asked her to marry him, in front of everyone on New years eve. The date was sent for the beginning of the next year leaving them both to have vacation at the same time. A week before the wedding they had a massive argument over Jeassaho being Betazoid. When they went of the away mission to the M class planet the next day they weren’t talking and that was how it was left when the ship was attacked separating them. The last image he had of the woman he thought of as his soulmate was lying in a pool of blood barely breathing. He had enough time to put the mask over her face before he was taken..... |
