Jeassaho was surprised by the garden in what should have been a cargo bay but it had been a lovely surprise for the new Engineer on board. She had been just trying to ordinate herself on the Mary Rose without the usual computer or PaDD assistance which had meant she was getting quite lost as she explore the Engineer and non living areas of the old ship . She strolled up and down the rows looking at the different herbs and planets, the smells reminded her for a moment of Betazed and before the war. As she bent over a particular strong smelling herb she jumped as spotted a figure inspecting her.

“Um… Hi?” Jeassaho said gently.

From behind her 'spit-resistant' goggles, Humili squinted at the Betazoid woman. Not that she would immediately detect Jeassaho's subtle distinguishing trait from any other bipedal, non-spotted being, but that would not escape her for long. Why, however, the woman decided to walk herself all the way down to Hydroponics without knocking first, that would make no sense. "Don't touch that one, it'll blow a skunky smell at you."

"Thank you." Jeassaho stood up offering a thankful smile. The Engineer turned to look at Humili. "I am Jeassaho... i was just admiring what you have done here." She looked thin and it didn't look like it suited her at all. She brushed a curly piece of hair behind her ear as she waited for an answer or introduction.

"It's hit the light too much, otherwise it'd look like a flower." Humili took a step toward the woman, removing her goggles. "Gotta admit, I didn't think I'd see anyone down here. I'm Humili. I think I... somewhat run the Hydroponics bay, but only because no one else comes down here unless they're Nann... which begs the question, how'd you manage to get down so far?"

"I am an Engineer, I explore ship to find out why they are broke." She shrugged "I will admit if you don't mind me coming down here more often i will it is beautiful and smells heavenly." The small Betazoid took in a deep breath of the air. It was so fresh compared to the rest of the ship which was still recycling the O2.

Humili sat herself down near the largest of the plants, a gigantic, fish-lipped flower that nuzzled the top of her head as she gave it a loving pat of her own. "Absolutely. I don't think I'll need much engineer-y stuff, but the plants like their visitors... just be careful which ones you touch, obviously." She smiled. "So what brings you here? To the ship, I mean."

"My mother was a botanist. I will be okay but i will also be very considerate of the flowers." Jeassaho said fondly thinking of Betazed before the war and the culture that was lost after, especially her mothers lost of her gardens and desire to be a botanist. "Um... the Captain i guess." She admitted moving to sit across from the Trill. "How about yourself?" She wondered not wanting to talk about herself.

"The Captain?" That was a new one. Usually people said 'money' or 'escaping from the cops' around the Rose, which suited Humili fine. They would appreciate fresh food and a decent brew all the same. However, the other's vague response was not enough for her. So she decided to be vague on her own. "I'm here in search of a decent recipe for my beer."

"Me and the Captain go way back." Jeassaho admitted as she wiggled a little and sat cross legged more as she laughed at the other womans vagueness.

"Way back?" Humili was Trill. 'Way back' to her meant something completely different to others. And the way Jeassaho went about her explanation made it sound like she and the 'Cap' were lovers, or estranged cousins. Or both, though she desperately hoped that was not the case. "Interesting. Do tell. Or don't, but you'll have to come up with the next topic of conversation otherwise."

"Me and Rueben were indeed lovers and by the deities a lot more." Jeassaho said her bright eyes looking into the Trills, revealing that she had been reading her mind.

Humili's brow furrowed, less at the revealing information and more at the revelation. She wasn't mad, far from it, but freely running in and out of peoples' minds was probably not going to go over well. "... There are definitely some people here who wouldn't take too kindly to that."

Jeassaho smiled a little, the smile lite up her face as she nodded. She really did know that but she knew the Trill would be okay with it.

"I know but i know you don't mind and also you needed to know the answer." She said with a smirk. "So what do you think of the ship?"

"... It's a ship." Something Humili had no thought on. "It does it's job - gets us from point A to point B, and everything in-between, and doesn't manage to suck us out into space. Can't say I'm against the ship, but I'm not singing it praises to the deities either."

"I am an Engineer. I would never let you get sucked into space." Jeassaho assured in a softly voice. She sometimes prayed to her own deities that they would survive the trip on this ship but as old as it was. "She isn't so bad. I find the quarters oddly comforting."

"They're old. I'm Trill, and none of my former iterations knew of ships like this. It was all civilian freighters and cruise liners. Such like that." Humili gave a shrug. "I have mounds of information about the umpteen million different forms of bread in each of the Beta Quadrant main worlds, but asking me about ships? Might as well ask me about the theology of Tellarites. Not something I'm versed in. That's what you're for."

"Each of us have a job. Each of us have a place." Jeassaho said thoughtfully as she glanced around again. Maybe this was what the Deities of the universes had planned for her after all.
