History
| Personal History | Born on Krios Prime, Karis grew up in an uncertain household. Her Mother disappeared when she was twelve leaving a very distraught husband behind and Karis took over many of the duties of taking care of her younger sister and keeping the house. When she wasn't busy doing those things her head was in the stars, dreaming of the day she could get off this planet which she saw as a prison. She was accepted into the academy and left her homeworld as soon as she was legally able, graduating from the academy almost a year early. But, she has no ambition other than to study the stars and so her career has not advanced past ensign. She does her job well but doesn't want anymore responsibility. Karis has always had trouble with friendships, not because she is unfriendly, but because she dislikes small talk and finds it a waste of time. She will however discuss science topics or philosophy at great length with anyone. Because of this she is often seen as stiff when her personality is generally very warm and despite not understanding most people she is the type of person who would do anything to help anyone if they asked. In 2395 during the destruction of the USS Yorktown, Karis, along with a few hundred other survivors was rescued by the USS Rhea. Upon exiting her escape pod she was met by Captain Adamya Ryon who reached to help her out. As soon as their skin touched Karis imprinted on him, a very rare bonding that allowed Karis to slowly be able to read his emotions. The two began a relationship later that year. |
