General Overview Ryon has had a complicated upbringing. Coming of age under occupation and the destruction wrought in the final days of the Terran-Cardassian Border War that left him with the view that the Prophets are really only Wormhole Aliens and that an individual is the ultimate authority.

With that, he takes pride in his career and in his element while in the center chair. A favorite quote of his is “Risk is part of the business.” Ryon doesn’t take blind risks, but knows the value of pushing the envelope.
Strengths & Weaknesses Ryon has spent a career as a leader forged in the fires of war. He is open to ideas and not particularly beholden to tradition. He views his rough start to life as a blessing in disguise. However, he often finds himself as a man without a home. He’s open to bouts of depression and feelings of self-doubt, though no one will see this side of him.
Ambitions He would like to think that his end goal is to restore Bajor to its former state before the Humans got their hands on his home. However, it is revenge that keeps him going. As the last bastion of freedom and democracy, the Cardassian Union must prevail over the Terran Empire.

History

Personal History Ryon was born in the Rakantha Provence of Bajor during the opening salvos of the Terran-Cardassian Border Wars. He was born to parents who served the Bajoran people as co-leaders of their own Bajoran military command in the Cardassian military. Because both parents were away, Ryon and his sister grew up in a Cardassian Military Academy. When the planet was occupied by Terrans, it was learned early on in the Occupation that even children would have to know how to fight for their survival.

By the time he was 16, Ryon had participated in his first mission for the Bajoran Expeditionary Force. It was an intel gathering mission that was fortunately uneventful. During the same year, the Occupation began to ease as the Cardassians began to push back the Terran occupiers. At war’s end, Ryon was old enough to join the Bajoran Expeditionary Force as it became a permanent and highly respected part of the Cardassian Military once Bajor officially joined the Union.

Ryon was accepted into the Cardassian military and moved to Cardassia to begin his career. While on Cardassia, he dove into his studies as well as met with all sorts of people like him who represented the Terran Empire’s cruelty. He chose to go through the Tactical path as he had experience and thought it would allow him to make his own mark on the galaxy.

The peace he had long sought was not given to him. Almost as soon as he entered his third year, hostilities again broke out with the Terrans. Seeing many of those who graduated before him on the casualty reports, Ryon doubled his efforts to graduate. He was assigned the Ravinok-class Galiant as a Tactical Officer. His first missions were filled with away team firefights as well as assisting with training. He was able to use Bajoran Resistance techniques during ground fighting to great effect.

Due to his performance, Ryon was promoted to Glin and Assistant Chief Tactical Officer. As the Beta-shift Bridge Officer, Ryon saw his share of ship-to-ship combat. The Galiant was part of some relatively small victories and successful tactical retreats during the middle phases of the war, mostly evacuations and escort missions.

However, this luck would not last. During an attack run behind enemy lines, the Galiant was boarded by Terran raiders. In the ensuing firefight, many of the Department Heads were killed, including the Chief Tactical Officer. It was at this time, Ryon was field promoted to fill the seat.

The Galiant was present in the liberation of the Minos Korva System as well as helping the fledgling Betazoid rebellion in a few minor skirmishes. Fairly quickly Ryon had become a decorated hero, and was promoted to Gul.

To commemorate this, Gul Adamya was given command of the Galore-Class Destiny. For the moment, Ryon’s responsibility was the Bajoran Sector. He spent much of his time patrolling the Badlands for smugglers trying to supply the Terrans. He was also sent into Klingon space on occasion to bolster the Cardassian front against the Klingons.

However the coming threat truly changed Ryon forever. While putting down a small Terran supply convoy in the Badlands, he received word that his sister was leading the Bajoran ground forces in a two-pronged invasion of Betazed. The goal was to reinforce the Betazoids and help them remove the shackles of the Terran Empire.

At the last moment, the Destiny was called in to reinforce the invading forces. However, by the time Ryon’s reinforcements arrived in the system, Captain Reuben Gregnol of the Terrans had laid waste to their forces and earned his “Butcher”nickname.

Vowing unending revenge, Ryon ordered his task force to attack in an attempt to cause as much damage as possible during withdrawal to fight another day. Ryon’s own Destiny was almost able to punch through after causing heavy damage to Gregnol’s own Fenrir.

Retreating in defeat, Ryon was again decorated for his heroism and bravery. But the death of his sister at the hands of Gregnol destroyed his goodness. Ryon was assigned to lead a brand-new class of starship. It would be of Ryon’s own design and feature a Bajoran crew, but it would take the best of the latest in military technology from the Cardassians as well as tech stolen from Terran wreckage over Betazed. At the end of production, Gul Adamya Ryon sat at the center chair of the new Neira-Class named the Wrath of the Prophets.
