General Overview

Rick (as he prefers to be called) has been around the block a few times. Dropping out of Starfleet Academy in the middle of his second year, his life seemed to go off the rails. What few people know is that Rick was handpicked by Starfleet Security for some undercover work with the Orion cartels, spending five years working deep in their operation to help uncover illicit operations. Although the original intention was for him to return to Starfleet proper, his experiences left a bitter taste in his mouth and he never felt like he would fit in with the typical Starfleet way of working. Instead he drifted into local law enforcement around the core Federation worlds for a few years, working mostly as a detective and occasional private eye. A Mars native, when his home was basically destroyed by the synth uprising, Rick felt even less comfortable around those core worlds and took himself out to the frontier, as far away from it all as possible.
