Physical Description It's uncommon to see Laile Resistance soldiers anywhere off of their homeworld-easily identified by their unique eyes-but Layil's vessel was intercepted early by the Terran Empire and, aided by hishuri, he has been a loyal Terran footsoldier for a majority of his adult life.

Wearing a vacant, eerie expression, with zero emotionality or any evidence of subjective internal experiences at all, even the hardened inhabitants of this universe recoil when they see Layil's towering-and-glowering physique stalking silently toward them.

There is limited evidence to suggest that Layil has any free will at all, or that he is capable of defying any order given to him, at least as far as his crewmates are concerned. Layil's primary weapon is a lightweight alloy spear with a razor-sharp tip with an option to emit bursts of arced energy, but he frequently appears with a variety of disruptors and other bladed weapons as well.

Personality & Traits

General Overview Indifferent, callous-unemotional, and lacking in anything resembling intrinsic individuality, Layil is a consummate soldier when in service of his employed duties and a consummate professional otherwise. He speaks in a monotone voice that rarely varies in pitch or cadence, and uses minimal, blunt wording to get his points across.
Strengths & Weaknesses A highly trained warrior with a variety of security, medical and engineering experience. Proficient in numerous hand-to-hand combat techniques and firearms. Extremely capable at any task requested of him within the scope of his abilities. Doesn't appear to feel pain.

Layil does not have the ability to question the things people tell him, unless explicitly requested by his superiors in analytical mode. Easily disregards the rights of others, no affective empathy whatsoever. Mostly unresponsive/catatonic without specific directives. Highly suggestible.
Ambitions Competence and efficiency in carrying out orders given are Layil's only measurable criteria for success.
Hobbies & Interests Layil does not appear to have any interests or hobbies.
Sexual Orientation Asexual
Language(s) Spoken Runi, Federation Standard, Betazoid, Cardassian

History

Personal History The trajectory of Laile within the mirror is largely the same as the Laile we are familiar with today; embittered in a civil war, with the proponents of the LR known to use a tropane alkaloid called hishuri to enslave individuals at a young age and strip them of free will.

In the prime universe, Layil struggled against this process (often ineffectively) and sustained significant neurological damage as a result. In the mirror, things become... tweaked. The amount of the drug used was higher, the training harsher and more severe.

Layil did not resist. He rose through the ranks quickly. He was an efficient and intelligent operative. They gave him his own ship-barely more than a shuttle outfitted with photon torpedoes-at age twelve. On his first excursion, he encountered Captain John Maitland of the ISS Marahi, who recognized the value of shur's influence on Layil's mind, and integrated him into a position with the Terran Empire.

This is where he has served, first as a porter and deckhand (there's cruelty and there's cruelty, and even in war, Terrans do spare their children. And he is Terran.) and then, with the aid of knowledge from his time in the LR, Layil was appointed as an interrogator on the ISS Fenrir.
