He was in pain. It had been nearly a week since the hoodlums had beaten Him. Currently, He had found a spot of relative safety. He was currently curled up, a few meters from the discharge opening of a large pipe that was used to divert the rainwater that would collect on the streets above when storms would roll though. His chest was on fire. He was sure that He had one perhaps two cracked or broken ribs. So long as He remained calm, He was able to breath at a near normal rate. As He laid there, in the moist darkness of the pipe, He kept trying to remember the word that He had felt was so important to Him. He was feeling a bit less angry than in the past year, but, He still needed to remember why it was so important to Him. Slowly, as His mind was working, He fell asleep. After a few long moments, a part of his mind that had been silent for so long, began to reach out for its missing parts.

Cassie had been dreaming of the minefield and how one wrong move and it could go wrong for them. “You come back to haunt me but never say anything.” She hissed noticing as the man stood there silent as ever. It was not every night this happened but times they seemed to align in sleeping patterns.

He smiled when the beautiful being appeared. He tried not to show the severe pain that he was in, but knew, somehow, that the being would know about every part of it. Struggling to get closer, He concentrated hard and slowly, through the pain in his chest, spoke. "Ka...Ka...Ka'see!!" He then fell to his knees, coughing from the struggle to speak clearly.

The woman moved to knell in front of him. "Just tell me where you are," Cassie begged wishing she just knew. This was not normal, something was wrong, something was wrong with him.

He coughed some more, some blood forming on his lips as he did so. He struggled to remain upright. Slowly, with great effort, he reached up with a shaky right hand, extended his right index finger and barely touched the center of Cassie's forehead, before crumbling back to the ground. His mental image slowly starting to fade from the subconscious plane that the two shared, due to their bond.

However brief the touch had been, it was enough for Cassie to see flashes of the past year of His life and all the pain and suffering that He had had to endure. There were flashes of a market and a few different high rise buildings, as seen from the distance. However, most of the locations that were seen were of alleys, sewers and other dark places where he had existed.

Cassie winced as she felt the exchanged, it would take days for her to shift through it in meditation to understand. It did not happen often especially like this it would have taken a lot of energy and energy she was not sure their connection had anymore. She watched as crumbled back onto the floor and followed him watching as he faded. She would find him and work out what was going on?
