Leiddem wandered along the corridor clutching the wall as he went. He was struggling to concentrate but it was getting easier as he took more steps. He stopped frowning at a figure walking towards him struggling himself.
"Hey... You okay?" He demanded not seeing who is was just yet.
Finn had left his quarters. Clearly it wasn't safe there anymore with the agents from Federation Security spying on him. He just needed to find someplace safe where he could rest, clear his head. Then he could make a plan. He was good at making plans. He wasn't always so good at following through, but this time was different. This time he knew he had to succeed, or they would find him and use him to find his family. Finn couldn't allow that.
He was making his way toward Astrometrics, remembering how nice and cool and dark the place had been earlier, when he heard someone calling out to him. A voice. A voice Finn recognized. Maybe they had found him again. He looked up to see someone...someone familiar. Kea. Cute. Cute, but what did Finn really know about him? Could he be an agent? They knew the types of men he favored. They could have put him here to use against him. But he wasn't the only attractive man on board. They couldn't all be agents...right?
"I'm," Finn looked around the corridor, trying to spot the spy cameras. He had to act normal. "Yeah...I'm fine. Just heading to," he had to get rid of Kea, come up with something to himself away. "Hydroponics. Yeah. Hydroponics. Want to check the CO2 levels." His eyes were a little bloodshot, and they were more than a bit wild, but he couldn't be bothered to notice. He just knew he needed to hide.
Leiddem held up his hand in a peaceful gesture and smiled softly in a 'I mean no harm way'. "No trouble but i think you need to come with me to sickbay." The Marine could see the wide eyed expression, he had seen it earlier in his own sister.
"Sickbay?" Finn repeated. "Are you crazy? That's the first place they would look for me. They've already got Mott working for them; I just know it. And," his eyes narrowed a bit as the crazy pieces of his deluded jigsaw puzzle started falling into place. "You...you're one of them, aren't you?"
"I am not one of no them!" Leiddem assured quickly his hand still held up in a peaceful gesture. "I am yours remember... my sister gave me to you!" He reminded calmly. He had been in situations like this before.
Finn's brows knit as he tried to figure this out. "Right...mine. You're mine. I remember that now. They must be messing with my mind. Okay, we need to get out of this corridor. It's not safe. We're going to Astrometrics. It's cool and dark so I can get rid of this headache. And there's equipment we can use to defend ourselves from them. I'm not letting them use me to get to my family."
"Who are them?" Leiddem wondered as he looked up and down the corridor trying to see if there was anyone around who could help him haul the man off to sickbay.
"Federation Security, of course," Finn was clearly getting more and more agitated. "They already ran my family off our home planet, and now they want to capture them."
"Whoa... no one like that around here friend." The taller man quickly assured putting a hand gently on the other mans shoulder. "Use your other senses no i am speaking the truth." He added worried about the paranoid expression and agitation he was feeling.
Finn looked confused, then worried. He couldn't believe he'd forgotten his Betazoid senses. His human half was more dominant, so they were weak, but they were definitely there. He started by feeling out the area. There were a few people around, but the weren't close, and they weren't focused on him as far as he could tell. Then he focused on the man in front of him. He was telling the truth. He wasn't working for FedSec. And he was concerned, concerned for Finn. He rather like the feeling of that. He'd been pretty much on his own since leaving home, and now he'd met at least a couple of people on board who actually seemed to give a damn about him. It made him almost weak with relief. He'd been holding himself together for what seemed like forever. He just wanted to rest. Was that too much to ask for?
The cloud of his fever seemed to lift for just a moment. It was long enough for Finn to step forward, lean into Lieddem, and just relax for an instant. He was still confused, but he was trying to remember that he could trust this man, no matter how the voices in his head were telling him to run. "Thank you," he managed to whisper, face pressed into Lieddem's shoulder.
"Hey you're okay." The fall Betazoid man assured wrapping an arm around him firmly. He turned and slowly walked him towards the nearest turbolift to get him to sickbay. It was an easy task now that he was relaxed and trusting him.
"You won't let them find my family, right?" Finn was finding it harder and harder to keep walking. "You'll keep them safe?" It was the last thing he remembered saying as his knees buckled. He collapsed as the turbolift doors opened just outside sickbay.
