Previously on “Debate of the Doctors” :

"No he was Bajoran!" She answered stubbornly. She knew that to be the truth, he had been her friend and he had tried to fix her lungs. "Can you get someone else, someone who makes sense." She asked not at all convinced.

Caden frowned at her, disapproving of the tone she took. "I can't get you this Bajoran doctor you keep asking about, but I can get you any of our other field medics on staff. Maybe Doctor Mott knows the situation."

"Fine get him or that Betazed Medic." Dixoho muttered still acting stubborn. She didn't want to think about where Talon was to say the least. Nothing was making any sense at all.

"... The word is please, where I come from," Caden said, rolling his eyes and making for the door. She had not been the first in the line of recovering patients he would have to deal with, but he decided she would be the last for the day. Someone else could deal with her.

And now, the conclusion:

Dixoho looked up as the Mess Door swished open and paled as she saw the doctor she had met a few weeks back when she had woken up. She looked quickly away embarrassed by her behaviour that day it had been a shock to wake up and find Talon gone. Since that day, she had been on a downward turn, her first friend on the ship had been killed by the virus when her herself hadn’t been killed and been much sicker, it didn’t make sense to her in the slightest.

“Hi?” She finally uttered not wanting it to be awkward seeing he was the only other soul having a late lunch.

"Hi." Caden refused to remove his gaze from the PaDD of medical information in his hands. On his plate was a sandwich. And only a sandwich. It had remained mostly untouched. "Tons of tables here."

"Late lunch." Dixoho explained her reason for being the only one in the mess at that time of day. She had been looking through the navigation charts trying to find a way to Empok Nor that would allow them to save on Dilithium to make a bigger profit for them all.

Caden's shoulders rose and fell, as a minute sigh escaped his lips. He made no motion to remove his attention from his PaDD. "No one around here eats on the same schedule, unless you want whatever it is Humili's experimenting with at the late hours."

"It's not too bad." Dixoho rolled her eyes and sat at the far edge of the table, close but not close enough to interfere with his space and solace. "Hopefully they will get a new Chef soon and not leave it to everyone pitching in." She offered hopefully before she returned to the silence of before. It was easy to see that he wanted silence and to not be disturbed but Dixoho found it a little difficult.

"Pitch in? Half the crew's not allowed to hold a frying pan," Caden scoffed, gesturing toward the single replicator in the whole of the ship. He gave her a disdainful look from the corner of his eye, before scooping his plate up with a hand. "Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to finish this in the privacy of my quarters."

Dixoho opened her mouth a few times to find words to say something but the bluntness and rudeness from the man surprised her so she just shrugged. "Fine. Was going to apologise for my lack of manners the last time we spoke but i can see you have a shocking bedside manner and it wasn't just me." Dixoho said with a shrugged standing up going to the furthest table away. She didn't need to make anymore friends, she had enough people who liked her and she was slowly becoming part of the crew.
