Dixoho stirred slowly and gulped as she realised how much she ached. Where was she? Why did this not feel like her bed? She opened her eyes and looked at the face in front of her sound asleep. Slowly she pulled back her hand and sat up on the air bed. They must have fallen asleep while Stargazing.

Markus stirred and then opened his eyes. He realized he had fallen asleep in the observatory which was not that unusual. Then he realized someone was beside him and that was not normal. He saw Dixoho and smiles sheepishly "I.. Hmmm. I guess we fell asleep? I hope you know I did not plan on that happening!" Markus shifted and sat up, "do you need any help getting around?" He was nervous, red-faced, and rambling. This sort of thing never happened to him after all.

Dixoho nodded and slowly nodded rubbing her aching neck. "I think we were talking about Earth and then I fell asleep. Sorry." She mumbled looking at the windows again.

"No need, it felt nice sleeping next to you." His face redden "ahh, you know what I mean? I was comfortable here with you.. Never mind. I hope you will join me here again some time? I am not usually such a stumble-bum. Honest." Marcus felt like every word he uttered left him in a deeper hole but he could not escape till she got up and he did not want her to get up, but remaining here was making him feel like a dunce! He was all in a jumble all because he had fallen asleep next to a pretty lady and that just never happened to him!

Dixoho held up her hand and shook her hand quickly stopping him in his tracks. "I get what you mean." She assured. "This bed isn't fun for sleeping on." She rolled her neck trying to to get the kink out of it from sleeping on her arm.

"You don't think so? I put this on top of my bunk to sleep on. My bunk is like a brick and I like soft." Marcus calmed considerably as she was not upset with him. "It is not all that late, I still have time to get almost a full night's sleep. Say you want to meet in the messhall someday? When do you eat lunch?"

"I am on Alpha shift but whenever I get a chance really." She murmured. "My neck doesn't think so. What time is it?" She asked slowly getting up and grabbing up her water bottle. "I am sorry I fell asleep on you." She had never fallen asleep like that before.

"Not quite 0500hrs. I am on Beta shift myself, but I am off duty when you have lunch, I could even take my meal break to have dinner with you once in a while if you like?" He shrugged I worked on some of the clean up after the explosion so I got some time off last night, sort of an early quit. How and why I came here, I sort of figured no one else would be around." He smiled "I am glad I was wrong about no one being here."

"I spend a lot of my time here." She admitted thinking. She only had an hour or so left of sleep. A ship like Rosiewas full of locations to help the crew fight of the hardships of long space flights. Mess Hall, Observation Lounges, Rec-Rooms, Libraries; staving off cabin fever was serious business. But nothing was as calming and clearing for Dixoho as the spot onboard where the ship felt the most alive the Observation lounge watching her move through the stars. "Sounds like you have it all worked out."

Markus looked at her and shook his head, "all worked out? Not really." He had a suspicion that was a 'no' to eating together. Maybe he had ticked her off and she was just one of those people who would act polite to avoid a situation. He started packing up to return to his quarters. He was upset with himself for falling asleep, now she probably thought he had set her up somehow. Once he was packed up he nodded with a meek smile "see you around, it was really nice to meet you."

"Well, of course, you are going to see me around we are going to have lunch," Dixoho said with a small smile as she rolled her neck again trying to get her shoulder to release. "I might just start my shift early." It wasn't like Rueben would mind if she did at all.

"Oh.. OH! Sweet.. I will see you at lunch then." Marcus collect his stuff and moved to leave as he realized she had not said no to lunch. He was happy as a lark in spring as he walked back toward the turbolift to return to his quarters. Even if it wasn't a date, he was still excited to be having lunch with a beautiful lady!
