Rueben frowned as he watched Dixoho walk away from Talon. He slowly walked towards the man who stood watching the woman walk away. It seemed they both had women issues to say the least. He coughed softly making his presence known.

“Care to talk about it?” The Captain wondered kindly. Talon turned at the familiar voice and chuckled. The Boss was the only one Talon had spoken with concerning his female problems. It was completely new to him. The seasoned Gregnol was more experienced in the matter.

Joss shook his head, his earring dangling at the motion. "It seems Dixie and I have patched things up. I'm a pretty intelligent man, but I'll never fully understand the fairer gender. I'm just thankful that Tabitha hasn't shown a moody side." He chuckled again. Rueben looked at the man incredulous before he burst out laughing. It was a laugh that came straight from his core. What he had just said had tickled him more than anything had in weeks.

“You are kidding me right? Tiffin is the moodiest woman I have actually ever met.” He said trying to stop laughing but now that it had broken free he was unable to stop it.

Talon smiled. He hadn't seen that side of Tabitha, if it existed. He saw a woman that was sure of herself. She was playful and loving. Hopefully, he would never see that side of her. Although, he knew there were times that all women seemed to be a little moody.

“Sorry but it is true. Attitude my friend, attitude only just sums her up. You certainly have rose tinted glasses at the moment.” Rueben said sobering as he spotted his own female issue walk away down the other end of the corridor.

Talon looked in the direction of Reuben's gaze. He raised his brows in understanding. So that's the lady for whom the Boss has affections.

"It appears that I'm not the only one with lady issues," Joss sympathized.

The man nodded softly. He barely got two words out of her, mostly it was just grief stricken looks and sighs. He really didn’t know how to fix it. “No but I have told you that story, I want to know yours.” He said turning back to look at Talon.

"Have you tried sitting down, just the two of you, and talking things out?" Talon probed. After he said it, Joss realized it may not have been his place. After all, the Boss did pose a question to him. "It's a long story," he confessed to Reuben, "Dixoho, herself, was the sender of a certain gift containing an intimate note inside. I found out after searching and interviewing several. When I went to thank her for the gift, she tried to seduce me, even after I told her of my love for Tabs. I've upset her by leaving."

Talon supposed that he should thank Dixie for that night. He ran straight to Tabitha. It had been the most passionate night they had, since their relationship began. Tabs had taken this whole book thing quite well.

"I don't think you are upset that she tried to seduce you but I already knew she was the sender." When he saw the incredulous look on the younger mans face. "I saw her browsing the book shop back on the station. She's not the type to look for medical books."

"I never tried to mislead her in our relationship," Talon sighed. "I consider her a close friend.

"Me and Jeassaho it is complicated by Keera." He said as the Bajoran pushed the question back onto him.

Talon chuckled. "You're letting another woman get between you and the one you love?" His smile turned to a look of puzzlement. Running a hand through his hair, Talon inquired, "The book was expensive. Where would Dixie get that kind of exchange?"

Rueben smiled a little at him. The man couldn't see that he was also letting another woman get in the way of the one he loved. "We both are dear Doctor." The Captain smiled a little. "Ms Saa is full of mysteries but I believe she traded." He hadn't seen what it was but the redhead was fall of useful information and guidance.

Talon didn't understand Reuben's first statement. During that meeting, Talon had done everything he could think of to prevent what had happened. Perhaps he shouldn't have gone there alone. Maybe he should have taken Tabitha with him. That would have been the crazy thing to do! The last thing this crew needed was a cat fight aboard.

"So you're saying I should leave it alone, Boss?"

"Da i would leave it to the deities." He advised softly. Sometimes you just had to leave your life in the hands of fate. Seeing it from Reuben's perspective, perhaps he pursued this thing to quickly and persistently. It was almost a driving force. Talon cared for Tabitha; nothing could pull him from her. So why the insistence to find the giver of the gift?

"Perhaps you're right. But, in your case," Talon suggested, "I'd say you'd need to take more control."

"Maybe but i don't know how." He admitted softly looking confused. "Jeassaho is the only woman in the whole universe who had this ability to confuse and control me."

"All women do that from time-to-time," Joss joked, but half serious. "Especially, the confuse part." The Captain nodded, he knew that part Jeassaho had that effect on most people that met her.

"I don't know what to do with her to say the least. She used to do this when I first met her." He said fondly thinking back to when he first met her.

Talon shrugged as he suggested, "Perhaps she's just waiting for you to make your first move, like then."

"Ha... I didn't make the first move. She completely made the first move." Rueben laughed thinking about it. "I was stood at the bar looking all lost wearing a security uniform. I had been brought to that ship as Security Chief until I was meant to became the XO. Seriously i stood there as this cocky ensign, wearing this bright blue dress and purple sky high heels walked up to me and asked me to join her for dinner as she didn’t know anyone and it was my duty as a head of department to look after her." It had been his Duty since that day, but did he have the right to carry on doing then after the universe had messed them up so much.
