The following is dated before the shore leave to Azzia...

Subject: Whereabouts

As you may well be aware, my current position from Starfleet has been taken from me. The actions of the Apostles were seen as reprehensible, and while we had no power over what occurred, I took full responsibility for what happened to the Nimoy, as well as that of our missing crew and diplomatic contingency. The details still have yet to be ironed out, but I feel we will not receive answers, as there is no ship to obtain answers from.

I am currently about to touch down upon Azzia, a planet that has just recently opened its gates to tourism, and will be doing so for two weeks. During this time, I do intend to make every effort to keep myself out of the situations of the ship I have been relaying messages from, though I will state that I have found myself with a leadership position aboard the SS Mary Rose. First Mate, if you will. I'm sure if I could contact my parents right now, they would be proud.

As to the situation of which we discussed prior to this communication, I have not been able to make any headway since my arrival aboard the Rose, but the leave on Azzia should give me plenty of opportunity to comb through the information I have collected. I will be in touch once I can communicate through a more secure line. It turns out that, while I am familiar with the general layout of the Rose, her technology has yet to have a proper refit, but I may be spoiled in thinking such things.
