ON:

The engineering spaces were quiet as usual. Jeassaho had shown up at 1545, fifteen minutes early as usual. Right at sixteen hundred hours, she had officially relieved Bradon, who had then retreated to his office to do some of the never-ending paperwork that came with his job. He had hoped that, being on the civilian side of things now, that he would not have this particular annoyance, but found he would have no such luck there. Oh, there wasn't quite as much as there had been in Starfleet, but it was still there.

Ten minutes later Jeassaho stuck her head into his office and got his attention with a loud cough.

"Jeassaho? Something I can help you with?" he asked.

Jeassaho waited the ten minutes that she always did before her partner in crime usually turned up but something about him not turning up and being un-contactable worried her. Pacing for a moment outside the door to the Chief door she slowly built up her courage and stuck her head around the door.

"Charles hasn't shown up and its not like him." She finally said the worry showing on her pretty face.

"You're right," Bradon replied. That is not like him at all. He's usually here by now."

He tapped the console in front of him. "Computer, locate Chris Tinsdale?"

"Chris Tinsdale is in his quarters."

Bradon tapped the console again, opening an internal comm link. "Mr. Tinsale, respond." He waited a moment or two, then tried again. "Mr. Tinsdale, please respond." Again there was no answer.

"Now that's damn particular," he muttered. "He's normally reliable. I'm going to his quarters," he said, looking at Jeassaho.
Hopefully, I'll be back shortly with our wayward engineer."

A few minutes later he stood in front of Tinsdale's quarters. He knocked several times quite loudly after having used the comm's to let Charles know he was here. Nothing.

"That's it," he thought to himself. "If he's tied one on, I will skin him within an inch of his life." He tapped the console on the wall next to the door. "Computer, Engineering Override. Bradon Gordon, Chief Engineer. Alpha Omega Theta Zero Zero Four."

The computer chirped as it accepted the override. Tinsdale's door slid open, allowing Bradon to step into the room. And just as quickly, he backed back out.

"Medical Emergency, Charles Tinsdale's quarters." He only hoped the medics got here in time.
