Thoughts to Break the Heart.

As Dixoho slept in her bed, Micheal sat out on her couch. He was finding sleep an elusive mistress lately. He knew that things were not looking good for the woman he loved but, he was trying very hard to not burden her with his building grief. He just couldn't accept the fact that, if things didn't change for the better, and soon, he'd have to watch as Dixoho Saa, the woman who's love and friendshop had brought him back to life, die of her illness. He didn't want to think about how he would react to that event.

He had had Rebecca keep searching for an answer to the situation, and, she kept coming up with a single fact. If they got Dixoho to Betazed, before it was too late, the doctors there might, might, be able to save her. Unfortunately, that time was rapidly running out, due to the pirates hovering just of the port bow, their powerful weapons trained on Rosie.

As he sat on the couch, he continued to mentally kick himself. So much had occured, due to his leaving the ship to hunt down that man. He had left Dixoho alone, dying. He had pulled Johnathan from his bride, Cassie. Because of the young pilot being with him, he had been hurt and lost for over a year. Cassie now detested and hated him. She also, apparently, was considering seperating from John. Poor John was in sickbay, suffering from severe mental injuries and old physical damage that he recieved during his time on Freecloud. And now, he wasn't sure if there was time to rectify any of it. He thought again that it might've just been better that he had never stumbled upon the Mary Rose, all those years earlier.

He considered the idea that, should Dixoho not survive, his heart dropping at the mere thought of it, but, if she succumbs to her illness, he would leave the Mary Rose and just sail off into the black void of space, never to bother anyone ever again.

Certainly Reuben snd the rest of the crew would survive without him. They had before he had arrived, afterall. His presence wasn't really all that neccessary. Even Rebecca would be better off without him. Yes, he had created her programming but, she had moved on from those early days rather quickly and, if truth be told, he needed her a whole lot more.

So, as his exhausted brain kept working, he made the secusion. Should Dixoho die...
