After being released for the evening, Micheal made his way to the quarters belonging to the woman who owned his heart and soul. While he was still rebuilding what he damaged in their relationship, he had seen that Dixoho was warming back to him.

When he reached her quarters, he pressed the door chime and waited.

Dixoho paused at the end of the corridor as she saw the man outside of her quarters. “Why did you not just go in? Your biometrics should have just let you go straight in?” She wondered as she joined him and released the door.

Hearing her sweet voice, Micheal turned to Dixoho and grinned. "I didn't want to assume anything. We haven't seen much of each other since I've been back and...I wanted to respect your privacy." His words were honest.

Dixoho shrugged and walked into her quarters. They were still bare apart from a few PADDS and items of clothing but nothing overly spoke of someone who lived there. It suited Dixoho even if people thought it was odd. "It has your code so the implication is there that you can walk in." She reminded.

Smiling softly, Micheal entered after Dixoho. When the door slid shut, he moved to the replicator. "What would you like to drink?"

"Trill mead... please." She added please as an afterthought. This man deserved her niceties and respect, unlike the other Terrans. The uniform she removed as she went made loud noises as it dropped to the floor. She hated every piece of it but it protected her, she might not be killable due to her ability to fly the large ship, but she was hurtable.

Micheal smiled softly and nodded. He turned back to the replicator and placed both her order and then his, for a mojito. After grabbing both drinks, he moved back to where the beautiful Trill was standing and handed her her drink. "Here you go, my love." His voice was soft and full of affection for this woman, and only this woman. Since the day their eyes met, this young Trill had owned his heart and soul. Aside from his earlier rage towards Gregnol, he would never do anything to jeopardize her safety. Though his attempt towards the Captain had been thwarted, he still felt ashamed that he had nearly caused her harm. If it took him the rest of his life, he would make it up to her.

“Thank you.” She said taking the glass taking a long sip of it as she watched the ship nearby them that absolutely dwarfed them despite the size. The Imperial Palace was beautiful and she had been lucky to meet one of the pilots earlier in the day.

Putting his right arm around her waist as he stood next to her, looking at the ship that was the seat of the Terran Empire, he said softly, "I hope the Fates never separate us again, my love." There was tenderness in his voice as he spoke, tenderness that only she would ever bear witness to.

"Then let us not blow anything up that is important and keep our heads down. I have been invited to a meal with the Empress like all the senior officers." She revealed not at all sure about it but it was not like she could say no or that she was not interested.

Micheal nodded. He knew about the invites. "Kyle got one as well. However, I'm staying here. Apparently, the Empress isn't too keen on her officers attending her with their own bodyguards." He turned to face the beautiful Trill, reaching up, with his artificial hand and gently caressing her cheek. "Please, my love, be careful over there. If anything were to happen to you..."

"Of course she is not. If she wants to kill you she will bodyguard or no bodyguard," Dixoho was under no illusions there. She was on borrowed time thanks to Gregnol but she was loyal. "I killed a man last." She admitted thinking to the science chief she had killed. "He tried one too many times and I stabbed him repeatedly before anyone could stop me. I spent last night in an agonizer. A bit surprised I am not back in one after my shift."

"I believe your reprieve came from Kyle. He reviewed the footage and decided that you were valid in your actions. Though, I'd be careful going forward. I'm not sure how much he'd continue to be gracious." He paused before adding. "I think he only did it to ensure I knew the power he holds over me."

“I am not afraid of an agoniser,” Dixoho said simply. Smithsonite should not have been as he was repeatedly if he wanted to keep his life. “People should know their place and know touching me is not part of it.” She said simply with a shrug.

Micheal smiled softly as he reached out and pulled Dixoho to him, wrapping his arms around her waist. "Well, I'm glad that it is my place to do so." He then leaned in and kissed her.

Dixoho did not return the kiss. She was deep in her thoughts despite the words he said. She pulled back and pressed against the window. "No, it's not. No one does it without my permission." She said firmly.

Micheal stumbled over his words. "That's not...I mean...I know you..." he closed his mouth and seemed to shrink some. "I'm sorry, Di. I didn't mean to insult you in any way. I was trying, and failing, to be cute." His jaw clenched several times and his cheeks grew dark red, from embarrassment.

"If...if you want me to go," he said in a whisper, "I will. I'm sorry."

“No, but not even you have that power over me. Not anymore. I am going to have a shower. I can still feel his blood on me.” She said simply as she moved away from him to her bathroom. She needed a moment to think along with water to get the blood off her that she had not been able to so far.

Micheal simply nodded quietly. He felt very stupid for presuming anything. He moved to sit at the dining table, as Dixoho had not invited him to join her. He would not make the mistake he had just made ever again.
