Location: Docing Port
515 words - 1 OF Standard Post Measure

Mitchell Sirotek had spent the majority of his adult life serving in Starfleet. It was a life that he had grown accustomed to and had come to enjoy. The excitement of exploring new worlds, encountering new species, and experiencing the thrill of space travel was something that he had found difficult to let go of when he left Starfleet.

But after an incident that resulted in him being discharged from service, Mitchell found himself at a crossroads. He wandered around for some taking odd jobs and providing services as needed. However, he missed the life that a ship and crew provided. It was a decision that he had mulled over for months, but ultimately he had decided to take the latter option. So he started looking for a new crew and eventually found himself drawn to the SS Mary Rose.

The ship was small compared to the ones he was used to serving on in Starfleet, but it was a new opportunity. But now, as he prepared to head back out into space, Mitchell couldn't help but feel a sense of apprehension. It had been a while since he had served on a starship, and he was worried that he wouldn't be able to keep up with the demands of his new role.

He was also worried about how the crew would perceive him. He knew that his discharge from Starfleet had been a topic of discussion during the recruitment process, and he was worried that they would see him as a liability.

As he stood in the docking port, waiting to board the ship, Mitchell tried to push these thoughts to the back of his mind. He reminded himself that he had been a capable officer in Starfleet and that he had the skills and experience needed to succeed on the SS Mary Rose.

Mitchell couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He had spent so long trying to distance himself from his past mistakes, and now he was putting himself back into a situation that could potentially bring those mistakes back to the forefront.

As the ship came into view through the large window, Mitchell closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He knew that he couldn't change the past, but he could control his future. He would work hard, prove himself to the crew, and do everything in his power to ensure that his past didn't define him.

Mitchell took a deep breath and muttered to himself, "You've got this, Sirotek. You're a damn good officer, and you know it. Just keep your head down, work hard, and don't let your past mistakes get the best of you." He opened his eyes and squared his shoulders.

And so, Mitchell made a promise to himself. He would embrace this new chapter in his life with open arms, and he would do everything in his power to make sure that he was a valuable member of the crew. He would ensure that he didn't let his fears get the best of him and that he didn't let his past define his future.
