Leiddem looked at Rueben as he was instructed to show to show the man around the ship. He smiled a little but he was starting to wonder why he was the one showing new people around the ship instead of their department head or his sister who was the next best thing.

“I am Kea.” The Betazed said and held out his hand as the Captain walked off without so much as a goodbye or thank you. He was starting to think that the Russian was getting ruder by the day.

"Sebastian Rudd." He steeled himself, mental shields snapped up and in place for the moment of contact and held out his hand. "You can give me the abbreviated version if you've got other things that need doing."

"No your Chief Engineer will kill me." Leiddem said with a small smile and shook the offered hand. "So where would you like to go first? Need help with luggage?" He asked trying to seem enthusiastic about it all.

He looked down at the two bags on the deckplate beside him; both carried tales within their worn and frayed lines and neither was remarkably heavy. "Thanks but no," Sebastian said with a slight grin. "I can manage. If you can just show me where I can leave them, we can continue on with the more interesting part of the tour."

Leiddem shrugged at the man and indicated the nearest turbolift. Once inside the Betazoid sent the old lift lurching towards the third deck. “Rooms this way!” He walked off down the corridor, passed weapons lockers and an Engineer who had deck plating up to a small room. “Bottom bunk is yours.”

Sebastian nodded and tossed his gear onto the bunk then turned back toward Leiddem. "All moved in ... so ... tell me about the ship."

"I am a neat freak so you can tidy up later on." Leiddem murmured indicating the drawings on the bunk above of him with various people. "What would you like to know first? I have been here since the beginning of this little adventure so a little over two months."

"Tidy up ..." Sebastian suppressed a hundred responses and settled on least argumentative. "In my work, I'm organized and generally neat. That doesn't generally extend to where I sleep which means the bed won't always be made but you won't be tripping over my gear. I get involved and I forget .... I can promise to try but .... its going to happen."

"Then we will get on fine." Leiddem relaxed. He hadn't been looking forward to sharing the room in the slightest but he had moved bunks to be inviting to whoever Rueben chucked into the room with him. "My sister is an Engineer she's a little like that." He finally admitted giving a hint of the type of man he was.

Sebastian chuckled. "All engineers are like that," he said. "Though I did meet one once who was a bit on the obsessive compulsive side. Had to have everything just so .... most grating personality I ever met. Fascinating though, how moving a spanner just a micron or two would immediately attract his attention ..."

"Engineering then?" The Weapons Master offered.

"Engineering," Sebastian said, punctuating the statement with a sharp nod. "What's the Chief Engineer like?"

"Bradon is a good guy. Fair and brilliant." Kea liked the Chief Engineer to say the least. The man went toe to toe with his sister in work standards and he had been pretty fair with the Engineer who had been causing friction and couldn't obey the chain of command.

Leiddem led the way down to Engineering. It was the most direct route one that he knew Sebastian would remember hopefully but if he was anything like Jeassaho or any other Engineer he had met he would be climbing jeffrey tubes and exploring within the hour of him being on board, all to learn the systems. The man pointed out a few different people as they walked through the big compartment.

Sebastian followed, taking in the feel of the ship, resisting the urge to stop now and again to look at this and that, climb up a Jeffrey tube or two. The ship was an interesting mix, somewhat Starfleet with all its sterile, clean perfection but also civilian, without the uniforms. There were times when he had wondered how it would have been, if his life had been different, if he'd had the option of pursuing a career in Starfleet. "Ship still have its weapon systems? Transporters and such? Sometimes that's all stripped before a ship is sold."

"Weapons systems are the only thing on the ship that have been updated to something anywhere near current. Transporters are old, they are only used in emergencies or very dire situations where the risk is required. The only thing that had been stripped beyond all belief was the medical facilities." Which to the Marine was the worst part to strip but they were slowly working on getting some supplies for sickbay.

"Aging technology is only marginally interesting to the black market," Sebastian said thoughtfully, "but medical equipment ... always in big demand."

"Yeah that is the issue as the price is sky high and we are struggling to get some more. We had a Bajoran Doctor at first who had always just made do but now we have a Stafleet Doctor who you can imagine is not impressed with the lack of equipment and the standard of what we have." Leiddem said with a small smile. "You will have the pleasure of meeting Mott i am sure."

Sebastian chuckled. "I'm generally healthy though there was that one time with the Orion and a flying spanner ... broke my hand but it was totally worth it."
