ON:

Braden walked on out to go see the doctor but he saw Bettina just down the hall. He removed the helmet but when he tried to remove the suit it tore a groan from his throat. He changed his mind and decided to get help. He walked over to Bettina and shrugged his good arm. "Say you have time to help me? Seems my suit is cooked into my shoulder a bit?" he turned and the suit was indeed partially melted but not compromised. It was just behind the shoulder and was obviously the shape of a inch and a half piece of pipe? Like he had leaned against it almost.

"Huh?" Bettina had been going through her pack to find out what she needed to replace after having tended to a rash of minor injuries from the explosion and fire in the cargo hold, so the voice caught her off-guard. When she saw who it was she broke into a smile, but then frowned when she saw Braden's shoulder.

"The shoulder is beginning to hurt as well. I could use the help if you have nothing more pressing at the moment."

"Tojo'Qa'!" Even without seeing the actual wound, Bettina could see that the injury was bad, and she hoped that the material wasn't melted into the skin, that would make things much harder to tend. "Let me look..."

He had to squat down a bit so she could reach him, and she started to carefully pull back the material. "I might have to cut the suit..." She knew that some people were very protective of their suits, but sometimes destroying them couldn't be helped, and besides, this one was already ruined.

"Not mine it was one of the ship's damage control suits. It is not into the skin but it hurts trying to moved the arm enough to get out of the suit." Braden looked back around at Bettina "just a clean and patch up Bettina, Captain wants me back soonest."

"If I can get the suit down..." She looked up at him, then rolled her eyes. Men! So stoic! "Hang on, this is going to hurt, I can give you something to block the pain."

"I am fine, just get it done. I need a clear head for whatever the Captain wants done. Maybe something for after? To let me sleep?" Braden shrugged his good shoulder "I could stop by medical once I am off duty?"

She recalled that first meeting and was happy to see him again, although she would have preferred better circumstances. "Sorry about not making it to dinner...got called in to work...are you allergic to anything?"

"Well I am still available if you find the time." Braden smiled briefly between tugs on the suit. "Seems learning the ship is going to be more painful then I suspected." He barked a laugh shaking his head. "Can you see the burn yet? I hope you have the good stuff! It doesn't even leave a scar."

"Oh, but haven't you heard?" she gave him a playful grin, "girls think scars are sexy!" She tugged at the suit again, freeing his arm enough to get to the wound. "Hang on..."

For a moments she dug in her kit, then pulled out a hypospray. "This is just a local, so you won't be sedated," she commented, applying the devise near the injury. "Once you are done with the Cap'n come back for something more general."

She gave him a smile, then nudged him a little. "Sit...this is going to take some work. I can patch it up for now, but you'll need the Doc to look at it." She understood that he had a job to get back to, and the wound wasn't so bad that he'd die if it was only patched for now.

"That will do and I promise to stop by and get a proper patch up job as soon as I am done." Braden closed his eyes letting her work as he went to his happy place in his mind. "Thanks Bettina, I sure hate to be a bother." He noticed the smoke was thinner already so maybe the air purifiers were not as bad as he had been lead to believe?

"Hey, just doing my job." Shrugging, she smiled. "Just don't make this a habit." As she ran a scan over the wound to clean it, she asked, "Can you move your hand and fingers all right? Any tingling or anything?"

Braden moved his fingers then rolled his wrist. After bending his arm a few times he nodded his head "no pain anywhere except the shoulder. Right now it just feels tight." He glanced over his shoulder "Say is there anyone who works as a masseuse aboard? Maybe even part time for a few extra credits? I am thinking once that heals I might need a good deep muscle back massage to loosen up the shoulder. If not I guess I will have to wait till the next port of call."

"Ummm..." Was he hinting to her? She could play that. "I think there's a Horta on the crew...they have all those little suction cups underneath, and they..." she made a funny face, puckering her lips up, "pussuk, pusssuuuk...best massage in town!" Grinning, she winked at him as she applied a dermal bandage. "Full body, all at once!"

Braden winced "I can wait till we get to a port." He flexed his shoulder a bit "it feels a lot better Bettina, are you about done?" he wanted to get back into the after fire inspection, and he figured it was better to speak with the Damage control officer sooner rather then later. He needed to know what her problem was anyway. After all as an officer he would be working with her when things like this explosion happened. He preferred a decent working relationship when possible.

"Just a sec..." Looking at the wound, Bettina made sure she hadn't missed anything, then nodded. "Yeah, you're clear, just be careful, all right. I want that dinner you owe me!" Smiling, she put her things away and stood. "Just...be careful...I said that, didn't I?"

There were so many ways to get hurt, and she didn't want him to end up in Sickbay in pieces.

"I am always careful, no worries I will be around to make you dinner. After all is bad form to make a pretty woman wait." Braden smiled as he made his way back into the cargo bay to find the Damage Control lady and find out what she wanted.
