Micheal stood outside the quarters currently assigned to the bride's parents. After the search of the crew quarters had turned up nothing, he decided that it was time to come here. Pressing the door chime, he announced himself. "Security Chief Robertson. Please open the door."
"They should be inside." Kea murmured from beside the Chief of Security as he looked at the two other senior officer and quartermaster who had been chosen to do this inspection and search of guest quarters while the Captain, Chief of Engineering and Head Doctor did the Crew Quarters of people suspected.
Van Tran nodded at the other two. He was curious as two why Robertson had wanted him to come. He was silently amused. His late grandmother would have been chiding him about trusting "foreign devils." It was an interesting search. He hoped that it would be relatively peaceable and that the passengers wouldn't be upset. He had gotten the impression that the bride's parents were of some importance.
"Um, Robertson," suggested the Vietnamese, "you might want to be tactful during this. Future consequences. That kind of thing."
The door opened and the Brides parents stood there looking confused as to why the ship's crew were stood there. "Can... Can I help you?" The man demanded.
"Pardon me." Stepping out into view of the door, a woman with a flowing, violet dress strode toward the scene. "Perhaps I could diffuse the situation." She eyed the trio of crew members up and down, before resting her dark-eyed gaze upon Micheal. "You must be the Security Chief. I am Valiyi Uhin, provisional ambassador for the Ardanan Council to ensure the safe arrival of the wedding parties... without an incident, preferably."
"I thought this was all a bit big dodgy? Didn't know Ambassadors were involved." Kea asked looked at his fellow Betazoid with a casual smirk. Good luck! He said mentally to her letting his eyes flick to her face before he looked away to pretend he wasn't having a conversation with her.
Micheal glanced briefly at his assistant chief, before turning his full attention towards the woman standing in front of him. "Good evening, Madam Ambassador. Yes, my name is Micheal Robertson, and I am indeed the Chief of Security here on the Mary Rose." He paused before continuing. "It is because of that position, that I am forced to inconvenience you and the other guests."
Quang watched the interaction with relief. He could think of little worse than ticking a Federation related ambassador. The stick size might vary, but swing of the influence would still be there.
Micheal took a breath and spoke in as an even and professional tone of voice as he could muster. "In lieu of the recent incident, every cabin and section of the ship is being searched for any evidence that will lead us to the person or person responsible for said event. If you, and the bridal party, would please follow my assistant, Mister Kea, to the senior mess, I must conduct a search of these cabins. In the interests of ship security, I regret that none of you may remain here during the search. You have my word as a former member of Starfleet, that I will be both considerate of your personal property and thorough in my search, and finish my investigation as quickly as possible, so that you and the bridal party can return here to rest and enjoy the remainder of your trip."
Valiyi tilted her head to one side, gaze at a pleasant neutral, unphased by any tension caused between the parties. "I believe our cooperation would hasten a resolution as well." With that, she turned to the parents of the bride-to-be. "And it would be in our best interests to do allow the security team to do their jobs. I'm sure this will all be over soon."
The pair nodded and moved to leave the room. "Are we to go somewhere in particular?" The Father of the Bride wondered quickly looking at Valiyi.
Quang looked toward Michael. "Would you like me to go with Kea and the Livaam to the mess as well. I can help out either place?"
Micheal turned and nodded to Quang. "Yes, thank you." He then turned back to the guests. "If you would please follow these gentlemen, they will escort you to the mess hall." He raised his eyebrows for emphasis as he continued. "I must insist that you remain in the mess hall until after I have given you permission to return to your quarters." He silently hoped that the bridal party would not give him any grief in this brief inconvenience.
Promptly, and before the party had any room to protest to the matter, Valiyi turned to the Father of the Bride and gestured to the door. "I believe it in our best interests to take another trip to the mess hall."
"Yes..." The man agreed glancing back in the quarters for a moment before nodding Valiyi was completely correct in the best interest of his family. He bowed slightly to the group before following the woman who had been hired to make sure everything was in order between both parties and the ship taking them home for the ceremony.
Micheal stood to the side as everyone left the cabin. "Thank you for your cooperation. I will finish my search as soon as possible." Once the cabin was vacated, he signalled to the other two security members to follow him inside. Once the doors closed behind them, he put a security lock on them, to ensure that no one entered during the search.
