Catelyn quietly walked into the bar, her loosely tousled sandy blond hair thrown over her right shoulder. On her slim, but toned figure, she wore a black v-neck sweater, low rise blue jeans and black heels. With a heavy sigh, she put her bag on the bar “Water...with lemon please…” She asked softly as she hopped onto the bar stool
“You walk into a bar and order water…” replied the bartender, unimpressed by the blonde
Cate rolled her eyes “Well, I could be called away at a moments notice. I’m a doctor, and I need my mind to be completely unjaded and sober.” She remarked quickly “That’s if I ever get called for duty. I’ve worked my ass off for the last 6 months, and all I’m called in for are bandaids and stitches. I’M A DOCTOR OF MEDICINE! I’ve spent 8 years of my life into books, putting my hands into chest cavities and operating on people! When I got this job, I had hopes of being the head doctor on staff. And right now, I’m just a damned medic.” She lamented angrily “You know what?” She added as her sea-blue eyes sparkled in the dim lowlight of the bar “I will have a drink. Something fruity...like a screwdriver…”
“Now that is an Engineers drink,” Jeassaho commented on when she heard the Doctor’s retort from across the quiet bar. It was still early in the evening and most people were still at dinner or on shift, later on, it would be heaving and there would be more than one barman on. “Lots of people come in and order water.” The woman argued on the woman's behalf. It was a standard thing for people to come in for bottles of Altair water to take on shift especially engineers.
Cate snorted into her drink as it was served “Hey Jeass…” she replied as she attempted to regain her composure. “And she’s right. Especially if they’re working…” she glared at the man before her.
Flashing her pearly whites, she nodded to Jeassaho “Hey you! How was your shift? Anything new happening? Are you guys still hearing voices?”
“Shift is always fine. It’s certainly interesting now with Draia there.” Jeassaho had no choice but to make a good thing out of it all. The bartender just rolled his eyes and moved to the other end of the bar well away from the two women, he had his own women issues and didn’t need anymore. “Have you not heard them?” Jeassaho shook her head at the other woman and her teasing. Loads of people had heard the voices and it was pretty freaky to hear them begging for help when you just couldn’t help them. Jeassaho had heard it when she had been fitting new circuitry to the the science labs and it wasn’t nice, she had been relieved when the other engineer with her had heard it too. “You coming to sit or not?” She wondered not wanting to yell across the compartment.
Chuckling at the invitation and grabbing her drink, she hopped off her stool and walked on over to Jeassaho “Yeah, Draia sounds brilliant!” She exclaimed sweetly “I do. I have.” She sighed as her fingers played with a strand of blonde hair “Being in the medbay, you hear it all the time.the whispers, the screams...and there’s nothing you can do. I’m a healer, and there’s nothing I can do. It’s so incredibly frustrating.” She lamented “I drown myself in work just to distract myself…”
“Should drown in whiskey much better.” The Betazoid said with a huge grin sashes held up her glass to the woman in a mock salute. “I hope science finds where they are coming from quickly as it’s creepy. It is like we are being haunted.” Maybe they bring haunted because they had opened up areas that had been sealed up when the ship had been a medical evacuation Ship. “None of this oncall crap my brother drinks as soon as his shift finishes.” Leiddem was a known ghost who haunted the bar now that it had been open nearly a month.
Cate grimaced at the mention of whiskey “Ugh, tried it once. Never again. Liam loved it.” She smiled slightly. The man had been gone for over 6 years now. She should be over it, but she wasn’t. That’s stashing the feeling to the back of your mind does. “I hope so too.” She replied as she sipped her drink slowly. “Feels like we’re in some kind of horror movie.” She scoffed “I should head back...I feel guilty enough that I’m away. Sure, the man running the damn show can run off, party and make me do their dirty work.” She rolled her eyes.
“What man?” The Betazoid asked softly as she looked at the woman interested. Jeassaho knew her taste in alcohol bred from the relationship she had with Gregnol, the man was a hard liquor man and she had found it attractive. She smirked a little as she watched the man come into the bar, she still did find it attractive but she would never admit it again, he was her imazdi but it was just to complicated.
Cate played with her glass as she sipped the last of her screwdriver, her mind aimlessly wandering about “Hmm?” She asked out of the blue. Relaxing quickly on the question, she smiled “Oh, Liam. He...was my fiance. He was killed years ago during the Hobus Supernova.” She sighed “Well, Jeass, it’s been a pleasure.” She grinned widely “But I gotta head back in, sadly. A doctor’s shift is never really over.” She winked as she pushed her glass forward.
"Okay... Cate you know where I am if you ever wanna talk." Jeassaho said a little worried for the grin on the other womans face. She knew the pain of just not knowing, she would be a good listener. The woman let her go but she planned on catching up with her another time.
