Of course, pon farr increased fertility. The fact that a child had been conceived was not a surprise, but it did change things drastically as Cassie stood there in the garden looking more and more worried. She hadn’t expected it at all, she knew that as a human she could be fertile outside of on pon farr but it was surprising that she had on the first cycle.

Knowing he could find his wife in the gardens, as he was well aware she found the place sooting and calming, Tevir went there when he found the house empty. He had come home a little earlier than planned, wanting to spend time with Ka'See, making an honest effort to be home more for her. "Are you alright?" he asked as he approached, her worry easy to detect through their bond.

"Yes." The woman answered instantly turning to see him stood there. She hadn't expected him to be there, hadn't expected him home for awhile. "Are you okay?" She wondered softly moving her hand from her stomach. He didn't need to know there and then.

"Worried about why you look so concerned," he confessed, knowing there was no point in hiding how he felt since she'd know anyway. He had precious little secrets for her, valueing honesty in their relationship over having secrets.

Slowly the woman turned to look at him and took both his hands gently in hers and laid them against her flat stomach. "I am concerned for good reason." She murmured slowly looking at him and hoping he understood because she couldn't say it aloud.

At first he wasn't sure why she did that, but combined with her concern he gave her a long look. Finally, his eyes seemed to light up. "Really?" he asked her, a note of joy in his voice. "Are you certain?"

"I was running blood tests on myself." She admitted knowing he would be annoyed with her continued research on why she existed. "And the raised levels appeared so i ran test after test thinking something was wrong."

Tevir smiled as he slid his hands around towards her back, drawing her closer. "Why would something be wrong. You should not worry too much Ka'See." He picked her up and twirled her around. "We are having a baby," he laughed, looking happy with the news.

The woman giggled as he twirled her around it was such a simple gesture that made all the difference. “I didn’t know I was pregnant at that stage.” She said having worried thinking she had been sick with raised levels of hormones.

"We are having a baby," he repeated as he set her back down on her feet. "You are glowing Ka'See. Are you happy with this too?"

The woman took in his handsome face surprised at how much she found him handsome. He was growing on her more and more, as she realised that this was her new life, her future. "I am scared but yes happy." She wouldn't feel settled until she got past three months, three months was when most hybrids failed.

"We will see how it goes but I have every faith it will be fine. Our child will be genetically almost Vulcan, it will be fine," he tried to reassure her.

The woman nodded. He had a point, he had a really could point that the baby wasn't like her, the baby would be more Vulcan. "But still one-fourth human." She reminded softly as she kissed his cheek softly.

"And still half you," he added, relishing in her affection. He leaned into her, feeling more connected now. "He or she will be our miracle," he promised. "You will be a good mother and teacher to our child." Of course he would never ask her to be a housewife, he would never demand for her to sacrifice her career. He expected the parenting duties to be shared evenly.

Cassie nodded as he leant closer to her again as stayed close her nose touch his cheek. "Ours." She repeated softly thinking of nothing then apart from the baby she was carrying, thoughts of another life didn't even factor in to how her new life was going to be now. She needed to let hin go.
