Slade was a little nervous as she pushed through the door of the bar she'd been told to meet a member of her new crew at. She'd ordered all her items to be sent directly to the ship, so she only had a small pack over her shoulder. Being a bit of a blonde bombshell as her cousins would put it she insistently had eyes on her. Being a telepath she could feel the lust aimed her way.

She squared her shoulders under her leather jacket, and walked with confidence to the bar, "Coke and rum, only half the rum." she ordered. Her kind were extra sensitive to alcohol, but her mothers' human blood had given her a taste for it.

"I'll have her rum," Lieddem called out from further down the bar. Not worth letting the bar take profit and not give the good especially when it was as rough looking like this place. He was hiding from anyone and everyone and the Civilian area of the base looked like a good place, to say the least.

Slade looked down at the man and huffed. “Not unless he's charging me for the full amount!” she said. “if he's only charging me for the half then you can pay for the other half on your own! “

She looked at the Bartender who slid her drink towards her and looked as if he were stifling a laugh. “What?!” she demanded with a smirk.

“most girls looking like you would have pitched he pay for the whole drink for you rather than just take your unwanted half. Who knows, he might have done so! “ the be tender said giving her a once over.

Slade waved her hand trying to look to her tough

“I don't need any stranger buying me drinks. In my experience that's how girls like me end up stabbing strangers who get too handsy! “ she announced. She was full of bluff and blunder just like she was taught. She could stab someone if she had to, but that had yet to happen, and she hoped it never did, but she couldn't be seen as weak in a place like this.

The bartender hooted with laughter. Causing Slade's silver eyes to glare. “so are you charging me for the half rum or what?!” she demanded.

The man behind the bar smirked, “hell yes I am. You just threatened to stab another patron here. If you had just kept up that pretty little smile of yours I might have let it slide, but after that?? Yeah I'm charging you and he will get the half!” he said before tsking at her sliding the half shot down the other man.

Slade blushed but humphed. “fine. You owe me! “she called down and said to the other man. Before flashing him a charming smile.

"I am sure he will repay you. Stay safe Marine. She's a stabber." The bartender grinned at the woman before he disappeared off. He didn't need to get involved in this, he knew Lieddem and knew he could handle himself.

"You won't stab me right?" Leiddem asked with a grin as she raised his glass to her with a grin downing the contents.

Slade smirked, "Depends on if you decide to get handsy or not. The good thing is I'm also a Doctor so I can fix you too." she said looking him over. He was a Marine? It had been a while since she met one, "But then if you are a Marine you'd know how to handle pain, so I guess its risky either way hmm?"

"I'm a Marine but I currently serve as a medic so I am the best both worlds." The mad admitted turning in his seat a little to look at her. The man knew he could easily defend himself but it was fun either way. "Leiddem." He offered holding out his hand.

"Slade." she said smiling, "You apparently were here to meet me," she said. "I hope I didn't offend you with the stabbing remarks. I was a taught a girl has to look tough and with how many dirty minds are having nasty thoughts about me already I had to be on guard," she said motioning her thumb to the tables were various groups were drinking, playing cards, and being generally loud.

Leiddem glanced back and grinned at the scene behind him as he let his hand drop. It was almost to much fun to be in this place. "Oh no. And yeah there are a lot of dirty thoughts in this place but you aren't the only one getting them." The man winked at her.

She made a face, "True as that may be I'd really rather not hear those thoughts. It is bad enough when people vocalize, but to add in their imagination imagery? Eyeam! People are depraved. There is a line between fun and disgusting." she said before she sipped on her drink and slipped on to the stool next to him. "So are you muscle on the ship? Or a cargo balance?" she asked looking the man over.

"I don't mind the images." The man said with a small smirk at her. He didn't see anything wrong but then again he had no shame at all sometimes. "A bit of both." He offered turning the smirk on her as he turned now she was close enough to look at properly.

Slade decided not to explain why the images bothered her. If she had it her way she'd be a lot less prudish, but thanks to genetics she kind of got screwed there. "You're a real talker ainchya?" she rolled her eyes as she sipped at her drink. "So why'd you choose to send me here rater than right to the ship? had to make sure the mind crawling medic wasn't a crazy girl? cause if thats the case, I am crazy, hope that doesn't disappoint."

"Nah I was all that could be bothered to come and meet you so you didn't get lost." The man muttered with a shrug. "Mind crawling medic doesn't really make you unique on Rosie at all." Leideem for one was a telepathic medic half the time.

"Half the time?" she asked catching the thought. She knew he was a telepath, it was easy to sense that even with trying to block out other minds. She sipped her drink again, almost relieved she wouldn't be totally unique. There was a special culture around telepaths, mutual respects and rules that a non-telepath would never really consider. There were mental handshakes, personal bubbles, quiet times, broadcasting, so many etiquettes. Challenges most telepaths encountered was the fact non-telepaths almost always shouted their thoughts mentally. It was hard to avoid hearing there no one wanted to hear.

"Sometimes I am a medic... Sometimes I am security." The man said raising an eyebrow at her inside of his head. He smiled and gave her a gentle teasing mental tug. These men are nothing compared to some I have met. You need to learn to block them out, He said mentally.

Slade blushed years among her family full of telepaths, and then years living among her father's people during her education... as tough as she wanted to consider herself, in reality, she unaccustomed to hearing so many deviant minds at once. It was going to be an adjustment. I'll get there. I have pretty strong blocks, they're just so damn loud. she rolled her eyes.

The man didn't mind loud minds, the majority of the rest of the universe was like that. "They are drunk and relationship starved men." The Betazoid said aloud with a roll of his eyes. "So time to show you the ship?" He wondered leaning down to haul up her bag. He was a gentleman first after all.

Slade beat him to it, grabbing it from him. "I got it. Thanks," she said. Not that she would tell him so, but on her father's world she would be expected to surrender anything to carry and allow someone to serve her. It annoyed her and she didn't allow it unless she actually needed the help otherwise. She tossed him a sassy grin. "Woman power and the like." she winked. "Now... let's see this ship!"
