Timeline: MD02
618 words - 1.2 OF Standard Post Measure

Tucker had called in his two most senior officers, having a ship suddenly show up in their path was rare. Space was huge and randomly running into a ship like that was almost statistically impossible, which made every bone in Tucker's body suspicious about it's origin. If something seemed too good to be true, it almost always was. The Rosie might be an old girl, that needed a lot of work but she was a darling.

They'd been able to track it's trajectory and came up with a couple of possible points of origin, but for the moment he wanted to speak to his staff and get their feel for the other ship. He'd served on a Yeager class, so he was pretty familiar with them. This ship likely was in the Dominion war and it was more likely for it to hold dead Starfleet officers than anything else.

When the chime on his office rang, he looked up from the datapadd he was reading, "Come on in."

Jasper can in with his own PaDD in hand. It was obvious by the expression on the man's face he was torn. His forehead furrowed though his eyes seemed to sparkle while a smile tried to play with the corners of his mouth. "Found some information on the Yeager Tucker, but would we be trading one set of problems for another?" He sank into a seat and drew in a deep breath, "she's got massive potential I must admit."

"You ever hear the expression if somethin' is too good to be true, it probably is?" Tucker asked Jasper, as he looked up from his desk with a half smirk. "I don't trust it. Them ol Yeager class ships were all right, but this thing just floatin' into our path? It ain't right."

"Ghost ships are that way for a reason," Jasper replied as he sank into a seat, "I love E... Merry Rose but she's getting old and cranky." He took in a deep breath and shook his head, "would be a shame to just leave her behind if we had to."

"It's more than that, just doesn't feel right to me," Tucker shrugged. "But we'll look her over and give our honest assessment, even if that means I'm a bit paranoid."

"Better to be precautious than to just rush into things," Jasper said thinking about the possibilities, "we should take it slow, Mary Rose is old but for now is working. We need to make sure this is the best move."

"Agreed, with map this new ship out. Figure out if she's worth going over to," Tucker said with a nod. "If she does turn out to be worth it, those intrepid class saucer sections were quite luxurious. Even the ones they used on the Yeager class ships. As much as I want to be cautious, I wouldn't mind having a few holodecks again."

Jasper furrowed his brow, "do those things really create a believable experience, I mean I've never been in one?"

"They ain't perfect, but they're pretty close," Tucker said with a nod. "On long deployments, they were damn nice to escape to. Helps get that stress off. They're also good for training, makes people feel like they're in a real situation."

"I've sure had days when I could use one, "Jasper chuckled and he leaned back in his chair a bit, "right now wouldn't be too bad." He looked down at his pad for a moment and furrowed his brow again, "does the ship have enough power it can spare to run something like that? It seems like it would take a lot of power away from the grid."
