Checking On The Others

Jeassaho still kept her arm looped through the flight control officer as they left Alika, Fake Ford, Jake and Jinx to look over the scene to try and figure it all out. Jeassaho could feel herself shaking from the emotions of it all and the fact she should have been in bed asleep by now. It was different seeing the market empty compared to how it had been earlier with the hustle and bustle. “Have you ever had anything like this happen before?” Jeassaho wondered trying to rationalize it all despite the lateness of the day and knowing the Captain sometimes better than he knew himself.

"Uh, not exactly. Not had someone disappear. I did lose my husband." Eden didn't reveal that to a lot of people. "But Jeass, I'm sure that's not what this is. Gregnol is incredibly stubborn and smart and he absolutely hates Stan. He has to come back to make sure Stan doesn't take over his ship."

"Husband?" Jeassaho looked at the woman through new eyes suddenly and squeezed her arm was looped through her. She had not known that at all. Did Reuben know that the woman had been married before she had been stuck in the transporter loop? "I did not know you were married, dear."

"Most people don't. I was married to the former Captain of this ship. Back when it was called Ishimura. Even back then most people didn't know. We kept it quiet. It was easier, no one to object, especially Starfleet. And no one could talk about it."

Jeassaho smiled wider feeling like she was starting to understand the woman a little more now. "I have heard about him. What was he like?" She wondered wanting to keep her mind off of Reuben. She did not like to think of the worse but the longer it went on the harder it was becoming.

"Different." Eden replied thinking about it. "Everyone assumed he was all tough and responsible, which he was on the outside but he really was so curious about the universe. That's what I loved about him. He may have hid part of himself in front of others but I could see it."

"How I see Reuben. That was before I realised he was the new XO, just temporarily there as Security Chief.” She admitted she had thought not about him on the ship as the Chief of Security not there to eventually become the XO in years. That had been a deep shock that this man five years older, one that had caught her eye the first night she had been on the Victory was the new XO.

"Yeah, I see that about him too," Eden grinned. "I mean he hates spiders and he let me bring Stan aboard. How long have you been married?" Eden asked. She'd only known them since waking up here and over a hundred and fifty years had passed from the time she knew.

"Since Daucina." The water world seemed like a million years ago after there adventure into the other universe and meeting the other version of Gregnol who was obsessed with her. It made her appreciate her husband even more for his steadiness and static nature. "I think you beat him down with that one though Eden." Gregnol was not immune to a good puppy dog look.

"Nah, I just strongly suggested he should let me keep him and that he wouldn't be in the way. I mean he's only escaped twice so far and never gotten out of my quarters. He only likes to visit Jake so we are good!"

"You know something. I am really not sure about your spider being a him." Jeassaho said jumping back pulling Eden back with her as a hologram advert appeared in front of her. "Hate when they do that. This place reminds me of Ferenginar just without the rain suddenly."

"Oh yes, we're working on a theory that Stan might be a girl. But I don't want to freak Jake out anymore than he already is about the spider. I might have mentioned that I thought Stan really liked him. I swear if Jake didn't love me he'd probably have gotten rid of him by now. I shudder to think of in what way because Stan really is so gentle. Jake is too mostly . . . just not when it comes to spiders."

Jeassaho was not a fan of the spider at all and it was one of the reasons why she made sure that the quarters where the spider was meant to be was as far from her quarters as possible. She just did not want to have to explain to anyone why she phasered it.

"Anyway, Things mostly work out for the good in my experience. Why do you love Gregnol?" Eden asked, being nosy and curious which in her mind were two different things.

"You did not know him before he came out on the fringe of the Federation. The man you all see is a shadow of the loyal, kind, brave man I fell for and I can not imagine my life without him again." Jeassaho did not want to consider her life without him again. The two years of him being in slavery had been too hard.

Eden smiled and seemed to be staring off into the distance while she thought about some things of her own. She wondered briefly if anyone thought her different from before or if Sebastian had lived, how he would be different. But as much as she missed him she did love Jake and their life together. "That's lovely."

"Everyone says that those." Jeassaho murmured with a shrug as they got to the transporter that would get them to the ship. Jeassaho unlooped her arm and put the coordinate in and walked through the terminal soon appearing near the gangway of SS Mary Rose waiting for Eden to join her.

Eden hurried after the woman. "Well it is," she answered honestly. "Maybe after we contact everyone else I can show you how to feed Stan?"

"Never going to happened Eden. You have more chance of getting Cassie hooked up with a new man." Jeassaho commented on with smirking back at the woman. She was not going near the thing.

"Oh that's my next project," Eden said cheerfully as she skipped to catch up completely to Jessaho.

Jeassaho raised an eyebrow but said nothing. She was not getting in the way of that project but she knew what Eden probably did not that Cassie needed to find a Vulcan priestess to allow her to move on.
