It had been a quick transfer and one that she had not expected but Gavin was gone and seeing her promotion had gone through Starfleet felt that she needed someone slightly different for her and her ship. She had not even had time to plan a leaving do or anything for her outgoing Executive Officer which was a shame, The man that was replacing him was coming into 621 before they eventually left and Ledeya was relieved of duty as Chief Medical Officer in the emergency situation.

“Two minutes and I’ll be with you.” The woman called from the Chief Medical Officer office thinking another patient was turning up and knowing she had not been summoned by an alert it would be something simple. She looked over a scan from herself trying to check if the medication was now back up to the required levels.

"Take your time. First impressions are hard to see through, sometimes." Chris smiled to himself as he leaned against the bulkhead, his arms folded casually. He'd been around the fleet enough to know that although he was expected, the timing of it and the transfer via 621 was likely one of many things she'd not had a chance to catch up on.

First Impressions?? The Betazoid thought to herself as she stepped out of the office and looked the man up and down taking him in. The woman raised an eyebrow seeing his Commander pips and frowned. "Christopher Mitchell?" She wondered finding him familiar somehow and that was the only reason he could be.

"Chris. Or Mitch, if you prefer." He offered his hand. "Pleasure to meet you, Commodore."

"I am pretty sure the pleasure is all mine Commander. You have joined us at an interesting time where we are both going to be pulling a little more than double duty." Ledeya commented on as she took the offered hand and shook it.

"Just the way I like it. I'm sure my predecessor ran things well, so I'll try not to ruffle too many feathers, ma'am." He smiled affably. "Cosmos has a good reputation, I'm just pleased to be able to bring what I can."

The woman took her hand back and moved to the nearest holographic terminal pulling up the state of 621 and Cosmos without the other ships that were now in the area protecting and providing support. "As you can see Cosmos is on skeleton crew until this state of emergency is over. I know you are being dropped in it but lots of changes have happened a lot quicker than I have been able to track. I did not expect Gavin to be transferred or it to happen so quickly. So what made you accept this promotion other than the good reputation?"

"It was hard to refuse. And it wasn't just the ship's reputation I was turned by; her Commanding Officer has a fine reputation, too. Congratulations on the promotion to Commodore, by the way." He smiled, letting her take in the inference that he'd done his research already. "I know what I'm stepping into. I know you trusted Gavin a lot. Hopefully, I can live up to that too."

Ledeya narrowed her eyes just a little as she realised this man had done his research and had the upper hand for the moment as she had, had no time to research him with all the chaos that had been going on. "So Commander what three things would you like me to know about you?" She wondered thoughtfully. It was the question that she had been asked the first time she had been on the Cosmos.

"Well, I'm not completely new to all this, for a start; I've just completed a tour on the USS Exeter as First Officer there before she's retired. So you'll find I'm competent, experienced and fair. And I demand the very best from everyone I work with." He smiled broadly. "A crew is a family. And I suspect it'll take me time to bed-in, but I'll be sure to ingratiate myself with the senior staff quick enough."

Ledeya quickly thought through stuff and nodded. The USS Exeter was not one of hers as she seemed to have the majority of trouble makers or the ships with that kind of past that caused them to need her kind of chance. He must be good to work on a retiring ship and then to be chucked at her, she mused to herself. "And your thoughts on this current situation?" She wondered just as thoughtful knowing he would have caught up before coming to find her.

Chris motioned to the display. "Well, the station's been through a bit of a rough time of it, but Cosmos is fine aside from the crew situation. Skeleton crew can run her for about a week before we hit any major snags. I'd say we offer the command crew over there three more days of assistance before we have to start bringing people back in phases. Should give them the leg-up before we need to ship out. And of course, Starfleet Command is likely to have some orders for us by then." He smiled at her expectantly. "Do we have orders yet?"

"No orders as of yet other than assist where possible." The woman lied thinking of the communication that she had received earlier about delivering some crew for a secrete mission. "It will not be long Harrington and Sepaniyar are asking for daily updates to assess the situation." Ledeya commented. "Right first job for you then. Work out what crew are in each batch and liaise with Sloan and Rosado to get our people back then."

"I hear you," Chris nodded and straightened. "And if you need me to field calls from the Admirals for you, I take that as part of the job too," he added with a grin.

“Being on 621 is doing that when all the communication is going through out gone.” Ledeya said with a smile at how he spoke about one of the jobs that was usually un spoken. Ledeya was going to say more but sick bay door opened and a gaggle of cadets came in.

"Well, that's my cue to leave. They're definitely here to talk to you, right?" he remarked with a wink and a grin.

"Unless you have started a harem then yes they all are here for me," Ledeya said smiling at the wink and the grin. He would be an interesting man to work with him.

"I wouldn't be the first," Chris shrugged. "I'll take my leave, Commodore. I'll be on the bridge if you need me."
