Nollel looked at Michael as they waited for Jake to appear in the observation lounge. Why was she doing this? What did she have to gain by uprooting herself again especially for the man who had she had done it for previously? She had nothing to gain really when she thought on it, did that make her a good person or a foolish one? The young woman really did not know as she sat there bright in her dress and heels against the muted colours of the chairs and star view. She was nervous and restless; it did not suit her especially when she could do nothing to help with the restless feeling.
“Normally when I am this restless, I paint or draw.” She said trying to break the silence that had descended.
"I'll make sure to have art supplies on hand in the future," Burnie said and put a hand on hers, and giving a reassuring squeeze.
"I would hope not to be restless." The woman commented as she looked down at his hand in hers. It was certainly giving her reassurance. When had this happened so quickly? She wanted to ask what he wanted from all of this between them but the door opened and two people strode in. One was a man who could only me Jake but the woman next to him she had no idea who she was. She was pretty and small and was wearing an Engineerings boiler suit that just looked like it did not belong on her at all. "Hi," Nollel said standing up to greet the pair.
"Is this her?" Jake asked, giving Burnie a nod. He actually surprised himself with how businesslike he was. Waiting for the little confirmation, he looked over at Nollel. "Jake Ford. This is Jea. I hear you might be able to help us."
Jeassaho smiled as she finally met the woman, her brother and husband had told her so much about. It was hard to believe that this woman had blown up a cargo bay with her innocent looks but she knew looks could be deceiving. “I can get some of you into the headquarters. I work in personnel management and there have been some strange things that I have noticed that have not made sense until Michael…” Jeassaho raised an eyebrow at someone calling the Chief Engineer something other than Burnie. “Mentioned something about a chemical that you guys found. I think they have some really dishonest personnel practices going on.”
"She's willing to get us in, but if these people are as dangerous as we think, we can't leave her there," Burnie put in firmly, looking from Jake to Jea. "You said we could offer a place to anyone who helped us."
Jake considered it. He didn't know this woman aside from Burnie's vote of confidence. It wasn't entirely his place to make decisions on Gregnol's behalf, but the Captain wasn't there and nobody else seemed like they wanted to make a call. "All right. We'll sort that part out after we get the Captain back. But only if we do find him, got it?"
Jeassaho looked at the woman and offered a smile to her. It had to be intimidating being a room with men as big as Jake and Burnie. Jeassaho did not have those fears as Michael was her boss but the Captain was her husband. “Well, I can speak for my husband for when we get him back. He is already going to be having several trackers inserted into places he really will not like. If you help us get us off this planet you have a crew member spot not just a passenger spot if you want it.” Jeassaho piped up shrugging at the men.
"Good. Thank you." Burnie nodded to Jea. "Whether we find Gregnol in Equinox or not, we know they're into some ugly illegal stuff, so that spot should be there even if we don't find him there. Otherwise, you're going to be down a Chief Engineer too." He shot a look at Jake. "Not just because I like Nollel. I won't stay with a ship that won't do the right thing by someone putting themselves out there to help us."
"You drive a hard bargain," Jeassaho commented looking the man up and down with a bit of a smirk on her face. She had not seen him this animated in a long time. Nollel looked at him too and smiled sadly, they really did need to have a talk about what ever this was. "You know we do the right thing Burnie, I am a good person and so is Reuben."
"I know you are," Burnie acknowledged apologetically. "But Jake made the statement and I had to push back, because I'm the one who asked her to help us, so if something happens because of that I'll feel like it's my fault." He might be over reacting, but he'd once seen what had happened to a local who'd helped after Starfleet up and left.
"This whole thing is a mess," Jake replied. "The Captain being taken, on a supposedly Federation outpost? And this Equinox corporation involved...I don't know what to believe." He glanced at Nollel. "Or who."
"Everyone be cool," Jeassaho said softly. "We are all friends here. I give my world that Nollel will be gotten off-world one way or another. The Corporation will also be reported to Starfleet." The Engineer never turned on Chief Engineer mode in how she acted leaving that to her husband and Burnie but at that moment despite Jake doing a fantastic job of taking on the ship and crew she needed to step up.
"If we get him back in one piece," Jake added for confirmation.
Jeassaho frowned at the man but nodded. It was a good compromise, one she did not like but she had no choice here the woman was the only one willing to help and they needed her. She shrugged at Burnie it was not going to happen otherwise at least with Jake's help which they would need.
Burnie frowned at Jake, but they didn't need to waste any more time arguing if they were going to get Gregnol in one piece. If - God forbid - they were too late and Jake refused to let Nollel aboard, he'd quietly transport her in himself. But hopefully it wouldn't come to that.
"Thank you." Jeassaho nodded at the other woman. Nollel gave a small smile, she hoped the man was okay. She did not wish ill on him at all. Jeassaho knew she would not be allowed to go with them but she was going to make sure they were prepared for whatever came their way.
"All right." Jake relaxed a shade. "In that case, let's regroup with the others back at the ship. I want us to be prepared to go in." He motioned a little over his shoulder, expecting them to fall in line.
