Mission: Mission 11 - Prospecting
Location: Captain's Ready Room
Timeline: MD02 18:00
1226 words - 2.5 OF Standard Post Measure

Jasper Offerman carried a bag, one he managed to purchase on his trip. It was about to be thrown into a heap to be "reassigned" to be something else. The bag as a Starfleet duffle, black and in perfectly good condition, only eighty years younger than the time he actually served. The printing on the bag had faded but the design, the design was one he was familiar with.

He had just gotten back from his trip, an adventure he had told his friends, but that wasn't the real reason for his sudden departure from a ship he loved. He had got some new clothes as well but they still were the same comfortable styles he had worn before.

The operations man had given up his position at the Chief Ops to go on his trip and he thought returning might be something he wouldn't be doing, but here he was standing in front of the ready room door of the SS Mary Rose. Taking a breath and glancing around to see if anyone was watching he pressed the door chime and waited.

The door was answered by Jake, who for all intents and purposes probably looked pretty dreadful. He blinked at Jasper for a few seconds, then looked over his shoulder at Jea. "What time is it? There's some guy here."

Jasper blinked as the man came to the door, His brows pressed together and he thought about what the man said, "I'm Jasper Offerman, Operations, and I think its 0900." His head tilted, "I sent a message to the Captain Gregnol, this is..." he shook his head, "who are you? and your quarters is the Ready Room?"

"They're not my quarters," Jake said. He looked at Jea again. "Offermans?" he suggested hopefully, wondering if she would explain.

Jeassaho looked past Jake to where Jasper was stood and smiled ar the man. "Indeed that is Offerman. Welcome back Japser." She called from where she was sat at Reuben's desk going through paperwork and clues. It was hard trying to shift through it all but the signs were all there for where the man could be.

The Operations man tilted his head and looked passed the unknown guy at the door, "oh hi Jeassaho, thanks, what's going on? Everything alright?"

Jeassaho jumped down from the table and indicated everyone should come into the room. Not everyone was privy to what was going on and the woman wanted to keep it that way to protect the business and the crew that relied on that business to survive. Word of mouth was a powerful thing.

Jasper looked at Jake and raised an eyebrow, "mind?" He motions as if he wanted to enter but needed the sleepy man to step aside so he could.

"Jake come on back in and lets get some coffee and explain everything. He might be able to help from up here as Fake Ford is so busy doing all the paperwork that Reuben normally does," Jeassaho commented on from her own steaming mug of drink. "Still coffee with two sugars Jasper?" She wondered as if Ford was not blocking the way in still.

Jake did step away, taking a seat in the corner. He was tired, but that wasn't really an excuse for being stand-offish. The whole situationg with the Captain was a battle in itself.

Jasper nodded acknowledged Jake moving and came into the room taking another seat where he could see both Jeaasaho and Jake. He waited for the door to completely close and then looked at Jeassaho, "so, something serious has happened, something you want to keep under raps?"

“Reuben has been taken. He has been missing three days.” Jeassaho said worried as she sipped on her mocha. It was serious and certainly was being kept under wraps.

Jasper's brow furrowed, "Taken? was he kidnapped? are they asking for a ransom? do we know who took him?"

Jeassaho shook her head to every question. They knew he was taken due to blood. So yeah technically kidnapped she guessed but she had no confirmation. Did they have a ransom not in the slightest and they certainly did not have any confirmation on who took him but it was a small suspect pool. "We really do not know much at the moment other than we found a big pool of blood and some random chemical readings," It was not much but it was something.

"Do you know ho they took him?" Jasper wasn't going to give up on the idea of finding him easily, "Check transporter longs, are we missing a shuttle? When was his last transmission?" He figured they would have done all this, after all, he wasn't a detective, just a guy that works in Operations.

"We're definitely all over it," Jake responded. "We're waiting to hear back from the Engineering crew, they're dealing with a problem over at the mines with a collapse. Once they're back we're regrouping and trying to figure out what we do next."

"Mine collapse?" Jasper questioned trying to figure out exactly what was going on, "Don't tell me we're miners now." He looked between the two with a furrowed brow, "did something go wrong with a delivery that we have to repay or something?"

"Nothing went wrong just some crew got into trouble looking for Reu," Jeassaho said shooting Jake a look at the mention of delivery going wrong. That was potentially what had set this issue off in the first place and got Reuben in trouble. It was never just straight forward at all on this ship. "We are hoping they found Reuben and they all come back together but we have to wait for them to come back."

"Which crew," Jasper asked pondering the new information, "what kind of trouble?" He smiled and shook his head, "never mind, if you haven't told everyone else yet than I'll hold off on asking until you're ready. You have your reasons and I should be searching for the computer files for any hint as to what happened."

"It has already been done seriously you have come in at the end of all of this where we know our next step but just need to hold off just a little bit." Jeassaho commented on softly." But what about you?" Jeassaho said wanting to change the subject just a little. It was draining thinking on the ifs and whats of her husband going missing.

Jasper nodded and then took in a deep breath, "Alright, is there anything else I need to know before I get unpacked and moved back in?"

Jeassaho stayed quiet and shrugged at Jake. They potentially needed a new Operations Chief as the one that had replaced him had not worked out very well but that was down to Gregnol when they got him back to discuss and organise again. He could also tell him about the borg parts and other bits that they had found in the cargo bay. "Nothing other than Reuben being missing has happened." She shrugged.

Offerman nodded and took in a deep breath not suspecting Jeassaho had anything else she could have said, "alright, I'll take off then and get settled in, just let me know if you need anything."

"Yeah. Stick around. We might be needing to make a hasty getaway from this place if things go south," Jake nodded.
