As promised Tevir returned as soon as he could, a Vulcan female even older than he in tow. The woman looked frail but her eyes held a depth of knowledge and energy that belied her frail stature. Her eyes swept over the trio now in front of her. "I am T'Hap," she said coldly, "I am here to assist with the dissolving of one bond, and the creation of another. Those who require the bond to be dissolved, step forward and kneel before me."

Counting on Jonathen to help Cassie, Tevir knelt before the old woman and bowed his head. "I am Tevir, I am bonded to Ka'See and require the bond to be dissolved to save her life." Though he had already explained his situation, he did so again for the benefit of the others. "Since losing her to a freak accident, I thought her dead and moved on. I have bonded another woman since then and cannot be bonded to two. For her sanity, and for mine, this needs to be done."

T'Hap looked down on Cassie. "Thy name?" she all but demanded, "and thy reasons. Dost thou agree with his statement?"

Cassie blinked away the tears that were rolling around down her cheeks and nodded. "Ka'see..." She whispered not having spoken her birth name in years. "I agree to release him." She said not looking at the old man at all she just kept her eyes looking at the priestess. They were lucky that there was someone this far from Vulcan with the small group of Scientists.

"You will both give me your thoughts," T'Hap continued sagely, reaching down to both of them. "I require your thoughts to unwind your souls. I do not know how long it will take, this procedure is rarely done."

After Johnathen had helped Cassie get into position, he stepped back, just behind her, in case she needed him in any way.

"Thoughts?" Cassie asked weakly blinking at how confused she felt about everything. She wanted to be in bed, she wanted to sleep, hell she would settle for anywhere but there.

"She wants to meld with us both," Tevir murmured, remaining kneeled before the woman, his eyes closed and his head bowed slightly. He flinched minutely as the woman's slender fingers touched the katra points on his face. He forced himself to relax and let her do what she needed to do, despite the procedure feeling very invasive and breaching his privacy. "Do not resist," he added in a whisper.

T'Hap reached out to Cassie with her free hand, her face a mask of concentration.

Cassie said nothing other than wiped the tears that fell down her cheeks. This felt so wrong like she was breaking some type of oath, some type of tradition and even for her being stuck in both worlds and feeling like neither accepted it felt wrong. "I won't." She assured.

For what seemed like eternity, but in reality was only a few minutes, T'Hap worked in silence as she unwound the linked minds. Despite their appearance, the woman considered the bonding to have a strong basis so it took precarious work and concentration, especially since the old man was already bonded to another. She felt the emotions from both of them, but attempted to ignore them.

At last, she lifted her hands and found both of them in tears. "It is done," she said, then pointed at Tevir. "You are released from this bonding," she said before pointing at Jonathen. "You are to take his place now."

Tevir shakily rose to his feet, needing the assistance of his grandchildren to keep to his feet. He felt terribly unsteady and dizzy, as if part of him had been ripped away and filled up by another presence at the same time.

"She looks so sad," Isaath commented on seeing Cassie looked so unhappy but so beautiful all at the same time. "Why did you never tell us about her Grandfather?" It was like they were meeting the missing link that had been missing all there lives.

"Because she did not know about having a son. He was born after she went missing, genetically hers and mine but born of the woman you know as your grandmother, my wife T'Sara," Tevir explained slowly, his voice a broken whisper, "it did not feel right to tell you without her knowing."

Isaath said nothing. But she felt them all foolish at the moment as she stared at the woman who looked so much like her. How had her Grandfather not said anything when his dead wife was staring from her eyes.

The old man sighed as he sank back down to the floor, unable to keep to his feet. He was keen to watch the proceedings but all of a sudden he felt so tired. It felt as if suddenly all energy, and all will to carry on drained away from him then and there. As if he had only lived to see this day, to be reunited with his beloved, only to have to let her go.

"Come on Grandfather," Isaath said being the more emotionally aware of the two siblings. "You don't need to watch this." She didn't think the man could watch it, it was easy to see that he had loved the strange woman who had come out of nowhere and changed everything.

There was no response from the exhausted old man, he just sat there in utter silence, his eyes closed.

"Grandfather you don't want to see this," Isaath said softly looking at her brother for help.

Sekat said nothing; it was his grandfather's wish to see this and he felt that the old man probably needed to see this to get closure. Who was he to decide for the old man what he should and shouldn't see?

Cassie turned to Johnathen at the Priestess spoke to him. "You don't have to be bonded to be with me, Nath." She whispered softly trying to not listen to the other three people in the room.

Johnathen carefully knelt down, next to Cassie, in the same spot that Tevir had been just occupying. Gently taking Cassie's left hand in his right, he looked over at her and smirked. "What did I tell you about saying that? I know I don't have to, but I want to. You are my life, my heart, my everlasting love. Without you, I am hollow. Bond with me, and I will spend the rest of my days ensuring that you are cared for, loved, and protected." He then looked at the Priestess. "I'm ready, Ma'am."

Every time he said something like that how could she doubt him. He had turned her whole world upside down, filled up her soul and his heart. In a short space of time, he went from the man that has rescued her that day in the space dock to his reason for living and breathing.

Nodding, T'Hap placed her fingers on his face, replacing her fingers on Cassie's cheek. Once again she closed her eyes and they could feel their minds being linked once she set to work. Again it seemed to take forever but in reality, the procedure only took seconds. Her eyes fell on Jonathen. "Go with her, she will not last much longer. Cherish her, Mister Anderson, she is special."

After the priestess released her hold, Johnathen opened his eyes, suddenly feeling more calm than he had ever in his life. Turning to face Cassie, he responded to the priestess. "I know she is. I've always known." He then gently gathered Cassie up in his arms again and stood up. There was a serenity about his features now, as if had been given some kind of power. As he turned away from the priestess, his gaze turned to Cassie, his eyes held a new, stronger, sense of desire for her. "We are bonded, now and forever. I am yours until the end of my days."

Cassie looked at the man as he slowly picked her up and wrapped her arms around him silently as the new bond settled into her mind. It wasn't like the last bond, she was too tired to enjoy the moment and confusion. She didn't know why the woman thought her special at all.

Tevir watched the spectacle, his face wet with tears. He was breathing harshly as he watched Jonathen carry the woman he had carried in his heart for so long, off to a private area. He felt a dull ache in his right side and suddenly he found himself unable to breathe. Unable to keep himself sitting up as a sudden weakness overcame him. He sighed soundlessly as he slid sideways and lost consciousness.

Alarmed, Sekat rushed to his side and looked up at the ship's captain. "I need a transport to your medical facility," he snapped, "now!"

"We can't transport on the ship. Come on." The Captain said instructing the other man to help him move the old man. It wouldn't be dignified but it would get the man there.
