Alexis was tried. She had overdone it by interrogating the last person who had been left a blubbering mess on the floor when she was done. She wanted a drink but she also wanted to sleep but what she got was someone standing outside her workspace.

“Commander?” She questioned softly. The dress she wore only covered a small portion of her shoulders and flowed down into a stylish scoop neckline. It was a close fit that highlighted her breasts, but in a refined and modest manner was would distract as she wanted. It was not decorated with anything in order to create a graceful, flowing look with white thin material. She was wearing ballerina flats; no other shoe would have matched the dress better but it was an unusual style for her. To top it all off she's wore an intricately designed necklace and several gilded bracelets.

"Miss Agrax," Kyle replied quietly. He had been back on duty for a few days, but, Alexis seemed to be avoiding him. It had never seemed anything other than she being extremely busy as of late, dealing with a sudden upsurge of interrogations. So, he finally decided to go to her.

"Would you do me the honor of having dinner with me tonight?" He asked politely.

Alexis blinked at him taking him all in. He looked healthy compared to last time she had seen him. “Um I would like nothing but than my bed right now Commander but you could escort me back to my quarters and we go from there?” She did not want to go to his quarters again. It was filled with tainted memories.

Nodding once, Kyle gave her a soft grin. "I would be honored to escort you to your quarters," he said quietly and honestly. He then turned slightly and offered his left elbow to her.

The woman wrapped an arm around his and led the way. She did not need to go into her job with him she had seen his name on several of the requests for interrogation but the sheer volume was leaving her fractured and vulnerable. “You have no bodyguard?” She wondered as they reached the nearest turbo lift.

"Not tonight," he replied quietly. "I gave Micheal a few days off. He's a good man. Loyal. I have always repaid loyalty. I also take care of those under my command." As an aside, he added, "I'm sure he's spending the time with young Miss Saa."

That made sense to Alexis. As soon as they were inside the lift the woman slumped against the wall. She was knackered and could feel it in her bones and the growing head ache she was experiencing. "That is kind of you." She assured him. Now if only she could get a day off.

Moving to support her weight, Kyle pulled Alexis too him, so she could lean against him. Holding her securely against his chest. Softly, he said, "I know every ship and captain is different but, does he not allow you to take time to decompress any?"

The woman shook her head. “Normally. But he is looking for a traitor as you know.” Alexis said softly. Her head lolled to the side for a moment and her eyes closed.

Feeling her body go slack, Kyle quickly scooped her up into his arms. After he made sure he had her securely in his arms, he ordered the computer to take them to his quarters.

A few moments later, he was carefully laying her down upon his bed. The only article of clothing he removed, were her shoes. He then grabbed a blanket and gently covered her with it, careful to give her the proper respect that a gentleman gives a lady.

Once that was done, he left his bedroom and sat down on his couch, still fully dressed. After a while, he laid his head back and thought about the last few weeks.

Before thinking he rose to his feet and grabbed her by the arm. “You don’t have to be what they trained you to be. You aren’t that person.” He turned her to look at him. “Not with me.”

Alexis dreamt and it was a painful dream of that last time she had been so close to letting someone in. “You have no idea what they have trained me to be Nathan,” Alexis said softly as she moved his hand off of her.

“God, you women are impossible,” Nathan said under his breath. “Ok fine. Why don’t you tell me then?” His voice got louder as he spoke. “For once, will you stupid women just tell me the truth.” He was practically shouting.

“We have a child.” She said simply seeing the anger in his eyes.

Nathan’s hand dropped. It was as if the puppeteer and cut his strings. “I” He barely breathed. “I don’t….I don’t believe you.” He was broken.

Alexis shook her head. She had gotten over the fact her daughter had been taken a long time ago somewhere safe, being here now was just a means to an end. “Well whether you do or don’t it doesn’t matter you won’t remember in a little bit anyway.” The woman said with a shrug.

“Why tell me this?” He asked once he finally started speaking. His sadness and shock being overruled by his anger.

“Because when Meeri is old enough I want her to know I told you.” She said softly. “They took my baby from me and hurt her. I killed them without even touching them, they didn’t even see it coming or know it was me but she's fine.” She added already feeling the righteous anger from him over the thought of his daughter being hurt. “But I'll probably never see my baby again because that is the price for her being safe.”

It was at that moment as Nathan processed what she was saying that the final division between them fell into place. She was no longer the woman he had loved and he was no longer the man she needed. “I am sorry, Lex.” He replied sounding defeated but resolved. He was sorry but he also knew there was nothing he could do to change any of it.

“No, you aren't Nathan. You’re Terran.” She said simply.
The phrase was enough to jolt her awake where she sat up confused. She never even tried to think about Meera or Nathan. Neither of them was coming back, one dead and one was so far away that it would be impossible to track her down now. Meera was safe, that was all that mattered to her. The Betazoid protectorate would keep her safe. Alexis slowly sat up and tugged her dress around her better and wrapped the thin blanket around herself as she came out into the living area and saw the man sat there.

At some point during his thinking, Kyle had nodded off, his head resting in his hand. After a few beats, his senses started to tell his brain that the air movements in the room had changed. He stirred, quietly, at first. Then, seeing Alexis standing there, watching him, he snapped up. "Hey..." he said quietly, concern filling his voice. "I hope you do not mind that I brought you here. I felt it was more proper than taking you to your cabin, especially as I have never been in your bedroom."

"Appreciate it," Alexis said looked around properly. The room looked nice and tidy compared to the last time she had been there. It had been a week ago but everything had been replaced to repaired leaving no hint of the destruction.

Standing, he moved over to stand in front of her. He gently placed his hands on her shoulders. "How are you feeling now?" He asked the question softly, apparent affection and concern in his tone and features.

The woman did not flinch or cower under his gaze or cool touch in her bare skin. “Much better.” She admitted with a small smile at the concern. “I just needed a few hours to reassert my barriers and equilibrium.” She said wondering if that was why she had dreamt about Nathan and the moment she had let him know just how much she resented him not being there for them.

Kyle smiled softly. "Please know, anytime you need a quiet place, or a friendly face, you can always come here. Any hour, day or night." He took a breath and added, "I already added your bioauth to my door's recognition software. You don't even need to ring the chime. Just come in."

“You are far to trusting.” She commented with a roll of her eyes as she took a step closer.

A soft grin filled his face as she moved closer to him. "Are you saying I can't trust you?" He paused a few beats as he swallowed and gazed into her deep, beautiful eyes. "Because it's too late. I already do." He could feel his pulse quicken the closer she moved towards him.

“I thought we went over just how easy it would be for me to kill you?” She wondered thinking back to the holodeck and how close it had been. She was small compared to him her head barely reaching his shoulder as she stared up at him.

Gently wrapping his strong arms around her back, Kyle held Alexis to his chest as he continued to gaze down at her. "We both know, if you ever really wanted to kill me, you wouldn't need to be this close to do it." He inhaled deeply, taking her sweet perfume into his lungs. In a softer tone, barely above a whisper, he added, "Fear, will never be an emotion I have, in regards to you." He licked his lips absentmindedly, wanting desperately to taste her sweet lips again.

The woman gulped as she was pulled against his chest the medals there biting against her bare skin. He had a point that she could kill him without even touching him if she wanted. “Fear is a healthy emotion to have towards interrogators.” She whispered.

His eyes, though full of desire for her, softened slightly. "Then, my dear, beautiful Alexis Agrax, I will fear the day that we are no longer in each other's lives." He then leaned in and kissed her tenderly on her lips.

Alexis moved and wrapped her arms around him kissing him back for a moment before she pulled back. "So this is you begging hmm?" She teased softly thinking back to what she had said about she would keep her distance until he approached her.

Giving her a handsome, lop-sided grin, he replied. "As I said before, I don't beg. Thus, I might be doing it wrong. May I try again?"

"You do beg." She said stroking a finger down his chest. Her words were light but he had begged her to kill him. "And a Terran who asks. This is very novel." She added lightly trying to keep the normal bitterness around the word Terran out of her whispered words.

Moving his right hand from her back, up to softly cup her left cheek. "I will always ask you, my love." Though his words were heavy, there was truth in them. He then closed his eyes and kissed her again. This kiss was more intense than the first one. It was full of the heat and want that he had for her. Her and none other.

It was enough to make Alexis pause for a moment before she delved in with the same intensity. She had not thought it would be that quick or anything but there they were in his quarters and he was calling her his love. He was either a good actor or truly not as cool and calculated as the rumours made out.

Kyle moved his right hand from her cheek, into her thick hair. He then took a firm handful and pulled her head back and to his right, as he moved his lips from hers to the side of her long neck. He began planting several kisses and soft bites on her flesh.

Not the first time someone had been a little rough nor the last and Alexis did not feel in danger. "Mmm." She encouraged before she moved her hands to his uniform jacket and started to work the zip free to stop the pins poking her.

Feeling her trying to open his uniform jacket, Kyle broke his connection to her neck and quickly opened and removed the garment, revealing his well-built physique, barely hidden by the sleeveless t-shirt he wore. After tossing his uniform top onto the sofa, he resumed his ministrations upon Alexis's neck, as his hands slowly started to move over her body.

As his hands reached her waist his commbadge chirped making Alexis smirk. The only reason it would chirp at that time of night would be an issue. "Go. We know it is trouble. I will wait here." She whispered as she took a step back.

A frustrated growl rumbled deep inside Kyle's powerful chest. "I won't be long." He reached for his jacket and slapped the commbadge. "Reece here! Explain this disruption of my evening!"

“We have arrived at our rendezvous Sir.” The voice announced as he left the quarters leaving Alexis by herself wondering just how annoyed he would be when he eventually returned.
