Ledeya had just finished explaining to Ryon about the situation that had developed since his watch had ended and he had been asleep. Mitchell and Dezom had investigated a strange light and it had ended with the man having disappeared and the petty officer alone and blind for only the man to reappear several hours later unconscious. “And then he reappeared and is in a coma in sickbay.” Ledeya finished and turned to the door as it chimed. “Come in.” She called.
"Commodore." Levi glanced at Ryon as he entered, acknowledging his presence with a simple nod. "I was just about to return to the surface with the rest of the security detail. Did you need something?"
Instead of immediately speaking, Ryon took the arrival of Drake as a chance to absorb the information. There had been reports of similar occurrences on other Starfleet vessels. Some were temporal displacement anomalies, others were encounters with beings from other dimensions, it could even be a medical episode. It was definitely a mystery that they needed to solve.
“I know why I asked you here. I want to hear your report on what has happened so far. Christopher has not regained consciousness yet so you are going to be the senior officer on the planet Major.” The woman explained indicating the other chair.
"That's not a problem. I was there when he reappeared, but aside from that not a lot. Chief Dezom seems to be fine, with no lasting effects," Levi replied. He saw the chair, but the marine in him didn't want to sit. Standing was somehow easier.
“Sit down Major.” Ledeya said amused as she watched the twitching look to the chair. “I am glad to see the Dezom will have no lasting effects. Must have been quite traumatic what she had gone through.” She knew medical would have already scheduled some mental health appointments but she would be confirming them once they had some answers around the cube.
"She's tougher than most," Levi replied simply. He'd spoken to Halla, but discussing her trauma wasn't something he cared to get into.
Having been through his share of awful situations, Ryon could sympathize. However, they did need to figure this out so that they could have a chance to possibly help Christopher and avoid future occurrences, it was the old Commodore in himself. "How did he reappear? Was it like a transporter or did he just pop into existence?" he asked directly, albeit with a sympathetic voice.
"Do you know Major?" Ledeya wondered looking at him. There was no footage just eyewitnesses to what had happened.
"I wasn't there before he disappeared, but movement and close contact with the box seemed to trigger something. The Commander just...reappeared? It wasn't like a transporter; no sound or significant advanced warning." Levi recalled.
Ledeya nodded. She did not like the sound of it at all but he was still unconscious in sickbay so there was nothing more that they could do until they could talk to him properly. It was a situation that she did not like at all. Something about Christopher had attracted the cube whilst Halla had not. "So we have no answers really then?" She said wishing there was some sort of direction they had.
Looking to Ledeya, Ryon asked, "Did the sensors pick up anything? Any power surges or tacyons? Whatever it was had to have left some kind of trace." The Bajoran rubbed his nasal ridges momentarily as he thought of solutions. This would not be a mystery that would be easy to solve, he hoped that Christopher would be able to give more information when, if, he woke.
“Nothing at all. We knew nothing was wrong until Petty Officer Dezom was found incapacitated. “ Ledeya said just as confused by the mystery. It was like nothing she had faces before.
"What kind of resources are we dedicating to the investigation?" Ryon asked, trying to gauge the need of additional resources for the investigation. "I have to say this is one of the oddest occurrences I've ever seen,"
”It is a very odd event. I have people looking through the databases to try and look at what it could possibly be.” Ledeya was not hopeful but she wanted to at least look through every piece of information they had available.
"Is this something that I should reach out to Fleet Command about?" Ryon offered. As the Strategic Operations Officer, that was about the extent that he could offer assistance outside of his own experience. In this case, he was found lacking.
Ledeya shook her head. She did not know why but she had a feeling that she really did not want anyone else invoked in whatever this was. “No. This is just between us now. We are more than equipped to handle.” She by way of dismissing them.
