Rueben stumbled into Engineer and frowned at the huge gap that was now where the Warp Core should be. Rosie was missing her heart and for the life of him, he couldn’t understand how it had happened. He was still shaken up by his vision of Jeassaho just moments before he had been thrown to the floor of his Quarters.

“Explain!” He growled at the nearest Engineer.

Janet jumped as the voice behind her startled her. She turned and was surprised to see the Captain there.

"Sir?" she asked, confused for a moment. Then seeing where he was glaring, she understood.

"I understand from the Chief that Charles had a psychotic episode, and during that time ejected the core. That's why the ship is adrift." Seeing the look in the captain's eyes, she hurriedly continued. "I just finished checking the tactical database and the sensors were recording when the core was ejected. I am hoping that they tracked the core as it was ejected. If they did, we can use one of the shuttles to retrieve the core." She paused for another moment, getting herself together. "From what I can surmise here, there was no actual damage to the core. Once we have retrieved it, as long as no damage has been done since it was ejected, we should be able to get it back online."

The Captain looked around trying to find the Chief Engineer. He should be in Engineering dealing with this issue. "And the Chief is where?" He finally asked taking in a few deep breaths as he saw the figure of his own ghost stood in the shadows watching him smirking.

"I don't know, sir," Janet replied. "He got off duty a couple of hours ago. He mentioned he was going back down to the stash to look around some more. I've tried to raise him but he is not answering his comm."

Rueben frowned rubbing his neck in an annoyed gesture as he looked helplessly at the PaDD trying to work out how long they had in reserve before the ship was plunged into darkness and no oxygen. "Which decks have no gravity?"

"Initially gravity was off shipwide. We have restored gravity to all decks except ten through 19. We are working to restore those as quickly as we can."

The man sighed a little, decks 10 - 19 was a difficult amount of decks, "So how come you have it in here?" The man hadn't felt any break in the gravity since getting off the turbolift. Main Environmental Control, Ships Power Distribution, Cargo Complex and Cargo Transporters to name a few areas that currently had no gravity.

"Backup system. Most engineering areas have them. They kick on automatically if the gravity goes off-line without using the proper sequences. Let's us get our jobs done easier." Janet was glad she'd had the answers to the questions the Captain had asked so far. She hoped her luck held.

"Get the Chief down here now. Find him somehow. Send a shipwide announcement if you need to. Me and him are going to go fishing for the core. We need to get it back urgently." They couldn't be without the core. It was the most needed item on the ship.

"Will do, Captain." Without letting him get another word in, she hurried out of Engineering to carry out the Captain's orders.

"And you can disappear." Rueben muttered to the ghost still watching him. He sighed, he didn't have long until he succumbed to the virus himself now and he had alot to do before that. Who ever said Captaining a civilian ship was boring?
