ON:

To the Captain of the *Mary Rose*. Dear Captain Gregnol I have learned from a job offering service that you are seeking a Chief Science officer. I have a solid background in Archaeology and research into historical artifacts. If this would be in line with what you are seeking I would consider a placement in your crew. I have small craft piloting and navigational skills. I also have substantial militant skills though i would not expect to need those as a science officer. Thank you for your time and consideration. Yours truly Braden MacCloud. He sent an attachment with his family name and the places he had worked on digs with his parents, a copy of his marine service. His time with the Corporation working the junkyards complete with the awards and evaluation letters from each of the three years. As well as the last contract offer he had been offered to remain with the corporation. Braden was not concerned about the salary so much as he wanted the Captain to see how badly they had wanted him to renew his contract. He left the return comm link as well so the Captain could get back to him. He was staying at a five-star accommodations on the starbase.

"Five-star accommodations..." Rueben murmured to himself as he started to walk around the starbase looking for the correct area. He looked completely out of place which amused him to no end seeing he used to stay in places like this and better, he would have fitted in perfectly. "I am looking for Braden MacCloud?" He asked the perky young woman on the desk. The communication had been interesting not only had it reached the ship but that he knew his name and it had seemed far too polite.

"Let me contact him and see if he is accepting visitors. May I have your name Sir?" The woman then contacted MacCloud's room. Mr. MacCloud there is one Captain Gregnol here to see you. Should I send them up to you?

Braden sat up. "By all means tell him to come right in." Braden walked to the door and opened it to wait for the Captain. When he saw the man coming his way he took a chance it was the man he was to meet and stepped into the hall "welcome Captain? Please come in."

"Don't call me captain... it is just Gregnol." Rueben assured as he walked in and looked around the suite. "Fancy?" He said hoping the man didn't mind slumming it as Rosie was 150 years old and the only thing different about her from then was the converted cargo holds that The Collector had put in twenty years ago.

Braden followed him into the room. "If that is your wish Sir but it seems rather rude to not show you proper respect. Do you not feel you have rights to the proper title?" Braden walked past the well built fellow to the bar "can I get you something to drink? I am paying for the bar after all and I almost never drink. Might as well get some use of it. I believe much of this is good stuff."

Rueben turned and looked at the man. "You are not my crew yet." The Russain commented on with a small smirk. Rueben earned his title after the last few months since Harkness had been arrested by Starfleet and sent to a penal colony. "Whisky if you have it." He murmured moving sit down on the couch.

Braden opened a bottle of earth whiskey, a single malt and poured a double shot for the Captain. "I never said I was part of your crew Sir." He made eye contact and handed the glass to the man. "That is to be decided at this meeting I would think. You do have the aura and appearance of a strong leader. However if you are not interested in being the Captain I would not be interested in hiring onto your crew. I feel strong leadership is important especially in deep space. I dislike lack of structure and chaos." Braden sat down in a recliner opposite Rueben.

"I am Captain but I don't need to be reminded of it at every second." He assured taking the glass. "Rosie is in need of a Science Chief to run the labs, make sure we have fresh vegetables and all the other numerous random things that happen on the ship but most of all she needs someone to catalogue." He wasn't going to tell the man about the grotto until he was signed on the ship.

"I grew up organizing and cataloguing on my parent's digs. I sent you my resume, I was highly rated in my last position as well. I am well versed in both field work and lab work. I am also a pilot so I can act independently if the need is there. If you are interested I would ask a 75% pay rate according to standard pay-scale for my position but a 5% bonus based on the artifacts we find. Whether I find them or you do." He spoke with confidence and a self assurance that he was worth what he asked for.

"Resumes don't mean too much to my ship or the people on it Mister MacCloud." Rueben admitted, he had never received a resume before for Rosie, the people who ended up on her were living on the edge of Federation Civilisation or dodgy, to say the least and escaping something. "You are very self-assured that you believe my ship is the place you want to be?"

"You have a small crew and you travel a lot. You apparently have no starfleet connection. My needs are few and I work hard. I am neither a fringer or a criminal. If that precludes me from being hired by you then I will search elsewhere. I am self-assured many say I am cocky. I am not a troublemaker though and I keep to myself for the most part. I have spent the last three years alone, mourning my brothers death. I want a ship with a small crew to get used to be around people again. That is all there is to it. I do not lie, and I can be handy to have around. I will also honor your wishes to not call you Captain." Braden bowed his head slightly with a calm smile.

Apparently... He couldn't help but inwardly smile at that notion if the crew knew what Starfleet was making him do it a lot of them wouldn't be on board but it was out of his hands now. "And are you willing to work with fringers and criminals?" He wondered softly downing the drink.

"Rogues, scroungers, people are people. I won't stand by and let someone be bullied. I will work within the security process though. I can work with anyone as long as they respect my space and do not mistreat people weaker then themselves for the fun of it." Braden refilled the Captain's glass and sat back. "So Gregnol, do you think I fit in with your crew or should we call it a day? Nos sense in wasting your time I am sure you are a busy fellow."

"I believe we can work something out." He assured sitting back more with his glass. Nothing that couldn't be discussed over more of the whisky in the slightest. He held up the glass to the man.

Braden refilled his glass. "Good, I do so hate interviews. Saying you do hire me now, how soon would I need to go aboard your *Mary Rose*. He pointed to three duffelbags and a suitcase, "that is what I carry with me. I like the old ships, have you updated your much? Any holodecks added?" Braden's laughed "just a question, I have not even looked as a holodeck in over three years. I used to train in them hours a day when a marine."

"Really a Holodeck." Rueben broke out into a huge grin and a bark of laughter. This man was going to have one big suprise when he laid eyes on the ship to say the least.
