Kea was examining the fragments he had retrieved from their latest victim earlier in the retrieval process, this time it was the burnt remains of a trunk curious to see if there were any markings that could be used for comparisons to rebuild the bomb.

Announcing his arrival, Rueben asked, "What do you have Leiddem?"

Placing the fragment into a tray on the pile of trays he was building, Leiddem said, "The bomb what's left of it, is fragmented." The Betazoid admitted looking around the lounge he was using as the forensics lab without a proper science area.

Braden walked into the room and nodded to the men there. I see you have the device. Might I look at it?" Braden looked at the case fragments, He used a knife to separate a piece of the case and frowned "See they put a liner between the inner and outer case to focus the bomb. Force follows the path of least resistance so they put a liner in here to direct the fire? I don't know exactly as there is not much left here, but by looking at the scene.. The fire was directed upward and into the other gifts. There was only a light burn trail flowing away from the packages?" Braden moved a few more scraps about on the table. "I would say, and I am not an expert by any means, but I would say this device was not placed to hurt the ship." Braden made a pretty good presentation considering it was all from books he had read about the subject.

Leiddem let the man move into his place to look at the device parts. "So what you are saying is that it wasn't an accident?" Rueben said glancing at Alika.

Braden picked up a piece of the burned case and offered it to Alika, "you can smell a sort of garlic odor. That is a residue from burned phosphorous. I saw burn marks that appear to be magnesium in the cargo bay. Phosphorous could be used to create enough heat to ignite magnesium. Magnesium burns at a temperature to melt even metals and is hard to put out. The amount of each element needed to burn like it did? I can not imagine any reason to have that much of either other than to make a fire bomb."

Alika leaned over, pointedly not touching the case piece offered, sniffing it with a frown. "I'm not exactly a chemist," she concluded, meeting Rueben's gaze, "But if we go on the evidence, there's no way this could be an accident."

"Nope," Rueben said frowning as he looked around at everyone. He looked at Alika and sighed, every single person on the ship was a suspect.

"... Fantastic," came Alika's reply, sarcasm oozing from every pore. She frowned first at Rueben, then at the offending evidence in front of them. "... You'd think by now people would stop with the acts of maliciousness thing and just go back to hitting each other with sticks when they had disputes with others."

Braden shrugged "on Earth they say God did not make men equal, Sam Colt did. What you have here is a similar circumstance? When the weak can not face the strong they use means that avoid direct confrontation. I just do not know in this circumstance who would be the weaker side?" Braden smiled "or the person might just be a coward afraid of direct contact?" Braden realized he was spouting nonsense and shut up.

Rueben sighed and pinched his nose in what he was starting to realise was a show of when he was under stress. "They are a coward." The Captain frowned a little. "Thank you for your help MacCloud." He nodded to the science Chief letting him walk away before he turned to Alika. "Well, now we have a shit storm and now to do an investigation." He sighed the Security Officer in him coming to the surface.
