Rueben sighed as he walked into the lounge he was using for the interviews. The man in question was the man who had revealed everything about the bomb in question. He had to start there as it was the most logical. "Thank you for coming here at such short notice Braden." He said apologising, he was pulling everyone in without warning to ask questions. "Can I start?" He checked pouring a glass of water looking at Alika to see if she wanted one.
Braden just looked at him dumbfounded, "start what?"
Alika leveled an annoyed look in Braden's direction. She had been put in a bad mood by all the chaos on the ship, so if she was to be anything in this tiny interrogation, it would have been as a 'bad cop,' or at least a tiny animal that looked mildly intimidating.
““Where were you located between twenty-Three hundred hours the night of the fire and oh-three-hundred hours that morning?”
Braden frowned, his anger barely held below the surface. "I was asleep." He stared into the Captain's eyes in my quarters."
“Who can verify your whereabouts?” Rueben asked the pretty standards questions that came with any security questioning.
"None of your business? You have any more questions." Braden was not going to kiss and tell and he was too damned pissed at the moment to care. In fact, if they were in Port he would be resigning and gone. Bad enough Gregnol had made the trigger happy thug his security chief, but now he was treating him as a suspect? He had come here expecting to be part of the panel.
“When was the last you were in the Cargo bay where the fire occurred?”
"Likely the first time I was there was when I was risking my life to save your ship. Sir." Braden bit off the last word sharply. "Am I dismissed now?"
It was a miracle Alika held back her tongue this long. Her eyes narrowed at Braden and her lips pursed to display her high suspicion. With as little information as they had, they couldn't rule a soul out, even the ones upon their ship.
"Everyone is being interviewed from the lowest crewman to the heads of department to the guests," Rueben said simply indicating the door with his head. He didn't have the time for the attitude when everyone was being interviewed. If it was just him he could understand it and maybe relate a little but it wasn't. Someone had to know what had happened.
