The package opened, the message inside read, Talon ran his hand over the bonded leather of the book's cover. It was definitely a special edition. It must have cost Tabs a lot of latinum. He gently closed the cover and headed out of his office towards Tabitha's quarters. He had the good news to announce to her, plus he wanted to thank her for the gift. Halting outside the door to her quarters, Joss rang the chime.

Tabs had had another one of those days. Although this time she made a few of the other "Engineers" look like fools AGAIN. Which was why she carried her gun and locked her doors. She was just finished up in the shower, in a cool blue towel when the chime rang. Her security update automatically video'd the person at the door. She was tickled to see Joss.

She lounged on her couch and tapped her Padd. "It's open!!" She adjusted just so. She was ready.

He had to get used to her speaking door. He just grinned and entered. Glancing around he spotted Tabs on the couch. He came at the right time it appeared, seeing the towel. He grinned taking that in.

"There you are, my beautiful Tabs," he readily stated. "You look ravishing in that towel. Of course, you'd look great in anything. I got good news today."

Seeing the box under her lover's arm she wondered what this was all about. She played it off. "Well finally!! What's up Tally??" If she moved just so the towel would likely fall away. She hoped he was ready.

Talon was very excited. The news he had received from Reuben, plus the gift from Tabs, topped off a good day. He hadn't felt so light on his feet for years.

"The Boss informed me today that I'm now in charge of Medical," he proudly announce. He held the box out to her full of joy. "And, I'd like to thank you for the gift you sent."

Tabitha's smile disappeared. "That wasn't me?!?" She said in a mix of alarm and hurt. Not caring if she became naked, she whirled off the couch and moved to her desk where she grabbed her Tri-corder. Some how the towel almost held, falling into her arms. "Have you checked it?!?"

The smile broadened as the towel fell into her arms. But as he began to register what she was saying, Talon's smile was erased from his face. If not Tabs, then who? The mystery of the package just deepened. Talon couldn't figure just who it was from.

"Yes," Talon affirmed. "I opened it. It's a leather bound edition of Doctor Leonard McCoy's Comparative Alien Physiology." He left out the part about the inscription.

In order to resist scanning the box for DNA, she tossed her tri-corder on her couch. Shyly she covered herself up again. She looked away. "Someone knows you very well it seems." She said quietly. She sat back down."I suppose you should figure out whom that might be??" A mystery admirer was stiff competition. "I'll help, If you want??"

It was intriguing to Joss that someone else out there would send him something like this. He thought that at the party, everyone had seen how he and Tabitha were attracted to each other. Who could it have been? And, why didn't she just come out and say who she was? Why was she afraid to come forward?

He quickly turned his attention back to Tabitha. "I'm just going to let it ride, Tabs," he nonchalantly answered her. "If they want to be known, they'll announce themselves."

He placed the package on a table and walked over to Tabitha. He grinned as he looked into her eyes. "I only need to know the one I'm falling for. I'm in love with you, Tabs." He looked down at the towel. "Incidentally, you didn't need to cover back up. You have nothing needing to be hidden."

It bothered her, it shouldn't but it did. "You've done well for yourself Joss." She felt kind of undeserving. The mystery was interesting. Then it dawned on her, she was giving him herself. A book?! HA, she would always be better than a book.

She pointed to the couch as she stood. "Well I have a gift that is far more interactive mister."

Talon grinned as he responded, "Oh, I like interactive."

Talon sat upon the end of the couch. He put an arm up on the back of it. Motioning with his index finger, Talon urged her to sit next to him so he could wrap his arm about his Tabs.

She wasn't actually completely naked, which she demonstrated when she dropped the towel. She straddled him and dropped onto his lap, staring him in the eye.

Talon grinned at Tabitha. He found her very provocative, the way she sat upon him, staring, almost a tease. He felt as though he could hold her forever. His defenses were crumbling with her sitting there, hazel eyes looking into his. Talon gently kissed her, followed by a soft nibble of her lower lip.

"I'm so in love with you, Tabs," he declared in a whisper.

Tabitha lifted lightly to whisper in his ear. The fact that her breasts hovered in his face intentional. "My bed's behind you, prove it.

The scent of her so close, straddled on his lap was all it took. He became overwhelmed with passion. Talon move his lips from hers to her breasts. He arose, swooping Tabitha, his Tabs, in his arms. He carried his love to her bed and it became a night to remember. They gave of themselves throughout the night, enjoying the passion each had to offer. In the morning, they would awake still holding each other, wondering where this adventure would take them.
