Dixoho didn’t mind the semi darkness of the old science labs. She was used to lighting like this from her old ship. It had been a welcome change to come onto Rosie and see just how light she was with nice big open corridors and no clutter, she could almost imagine that, for a moment, in the lab she was home. She paused and turned as she heard someone in the corridor. Not many people came down to this area of the ship since it was revealed apart from science and she was technically being science right then and there. “Who is there?” She demanded looking around.

Micheal was doing his security rounds, when he found the sealed hatch to the old science labs had been opened. Cautiously, he entered, pulling out his small flashlight and activating it. "It's me, Di. What are you doing in here?"

“You...” she stepped down from the lab platform and smiled holding up the abandoned experiment to put into the pile of stuff to be looked over. “Doing what I’ve supposedly been threatening to do for months, creating an astrometrics lab.” She said cooly wincing at the light being shone at her.

Seeing her squint, Micheal moved the light to her upper torso and stepped closer. "I've tried talking to you for several days now. Why have you been avoiding me, sweetheart?" His voice was soft and full of concern.

"Have you? I haven't noticed." She said softly as she held the items in front of her so he couldn't get close to her. "Been busy... want to get on with this now I have permission from Gregnol and that Science woman." She mused stood there in the middle of the lab.

Micheal noticed how distant Dixoho was being with him. With a concerned look on his face, he asked, "Hey, what's wrong. It's me, remember? Talk to me, Di, please."

"What do you want to know Micheal... I don't remember what happened." She said softly seeing the concern written over his face. The man remembered everything whilst she didn't and that was all he needed to know.

Stepping forward, Micheal reached out to gently touch Dixoho's right cheek with the palm of his left hand. "I'm sorry, sweetheart. I didn't know."

The woman was surprised when he moved forward and caressed her cheek. She hadn't expected him to touch her let alone caress her like that. "Well... you do now." She said her eyes softening just slightly as she looked at him.

A look of deep love and compassion crossed Micheal's features as he considered the situation. Gazing down into Dixoho's beautiful eyes, he whispered, "While I agree that it is disconcerting, be glad that you can't remember anything." He didn't say that he remembered every single detail of their imprisonment. He wished, like her, he couldn't. He was having many sleepless nights as of late, due to severe nightmares.

She looked away from the gaze, unsure what to say as he tried to keep her close. "Big pockets of memory loss. Must have been traumatic... too much for me." She said with a shrug before looking back at him. "Did you come looking for me for anything?" Dixoho wondered.

Sighing softly, Micheal removed his hand from Dixoho's face when she turned away. Shaking his head slightly, he replied. "Not originally. I was just doing my security rounds and saw this lab had been accessed. I simply stepped in to check things out. Finding you here, however, was a very pleasant surprise. I'm glad to see that you are up and back to work. I've still got a couple more months of physical and occupational therapy to get through, before I'm fully, physically, healed."

"Would be expected after what I can gather happened to you." She said smiling a little at how close they were. She backed up tugging him a little with her before she sat on the broken console "How are you feeling with all the strange stuff going on?"

Micheal allowed himself to be pulled closer to Dixoho. He frorned slightly and shook his head. "Truthfully, I'm starting to get very agitated. No matter what I do or think of to try and discover who is doing all of this, They keep seeming to be a step or twelve ahead of me and my people."

"I am sorry to hear that." She murmured, touching his arm gently in the first show of affection she had given him since she had woken up. She looked very much like she was trying to bridge whatever gap was between them now.

Micheal glanced down at where Dixoho was touching him. He longed to feel her arms around him, her lips pressed against his. However, he wouldn't force the situation. Doing so could only reward him with more distance from the beautiful helm officer. Looking back up into her eyes, he spoke softly. "I've missed you, Di. Please come back to me."

"I never went anywhere... just things happened." She said with a small shrug as she looked into his eyes.

Micheal felt his heart beat a bit harder as he lost himself in Dixoho's beautiful eyes. "I'm sorry, my love. I'm sorry that I couldn't protect you against them." His voice filled with some steel as he continued. "While I was able to kill one of them, the other, a shapshifter, got away. I give you my word, here and now, I will find it, and kill it. You will not be taking by it again."

“It comes near me. I will break its neck,” She told him firmly the steel in her own voice. “I think your injuries spoke of your battles.” She told him firmly.

His eyes softening, Micheal gave Dixoho a very charming grin. "I know you would. Just, do us both a favor? No going off all Lone Ranger. We, you and I, are a team. What happens to one of us, happens to us both." He ran his right hand through her long, red, hair gently. "Or isn't it obvious that I love you?"

"You are a little bit touchy-feely." She mused softly as she looked back at him. He was certainly very charming there and then. Maybe they could work things to how they wanted after all.
