Having had a few days to settle in, Lyras now believed it was time to go out and properly meet fellow crewmembers. However there was one he felt was going to be somewhat of an issue. At least, an issue insofar what was imprinted onto him by his peers: only full Vulcans were of concern. Hybrids were a class apart.

He watched the woman from afar for a moment, frowning as he saw her with a Human male. That she was impure of blood was one thing, but to have personal liaisons with a Human? On top of that, her records stated she was already bonded. How could she be so unfaithful?

Leaning against the wall of the rec-room, he just simply stared at her, not even realizing he was doing it.

The woman had watched the man watching her on and off for a while ever since their crash landing on the planet. She had seen his judgemental looks and word but she had ignored them up until this point when he was just there. "Doctor... Can I help you?" She wondered as she passed by him.

"How can you betray your bondmate like this," Lyras stated calmly, "or your heritage. Were you not raised Vulcan? Were you not taught to uphold tradition?"

The woman looked at him and almost felt something primal lurching underneath wanting to get out and hit this man silly for what he dared to say to her. "You don't know me or anything about my past, my presence or my future." She hissed.

"I know your records, and everyone at the academy spoke of the woman who abandoned her mate. Now I see why." He gave her a steely look. "I do not know anyone's future, I am not a psychic. Why did you leave him, was he not good enough for you?"

"No one knows me." She hissed knowing full well that her relationship with Johnathen was low key had been since they had gotten back together. He was goading her. "And you don't know what had has happened between me and Tevir." She added, she loved Tevir but Johnathen was her soulmate. Tevir didn't deserve her not the other way around.

"Because you make no effort for anyone to come close," Lyras prompted, "you are neither Human nor Vulcan, you belong nowhere except you do not make an effort to even try to belong somewhere. Are you Human, or are you Vulcan?"

The Ensign looked at the man and growled low in her throat in a Vulcan way that warned him off. "What do you care Ensign... What do you care about me at all?"

"Doctor," he corrected her, "and I do not care about you personally at all. But I need to know in case you do become my patient, what kind of treatment I should follow. What methods to use."

"Then Doctor... you should know that sometimes I can be treated like a human and sometimes like a Vulcan. Welcome to a new world." She said standing a little straighter as she said that. She was a success and her mother would be proud of her words. She was the best of both worlds.

"I see..." Lyras said, not seeing at all. To him, she was an abomination, inferior. "Very well, I will keep that in mind then. I assume you are healthy? Because as readings no doubt will be going haywire I will require readings for you in a healthy physical state to compare to.

"So you would like an examination?" She wondered feeling that she might need to walk away from this man very soon if she wanted to keep her commission after everything that had happened in the last six months.

"Negative. I do not like an examination," Lyras answered coolly, "I require a baseline examination. Something to compare readings to in case you are ill."

The woman took a low calming breath. "Well, you tell me when and where and I will be there Doctor." Was all she said as she walked away and moved towards where Johnathen was stood watching the pair ready to step in if he needed to.

"As soon as possible," the Vulcan doctor stated, watching the woman walk away. He shook his head and started to turn away; he had work to do.
