Ledeya watched as the rest of the Task Group and Task Force Commanders and staff disappeared from around the ready room and waited for one of them to reconnect. She smiled politely as the man who she was replacing in the Task Force with his promotion reappeared. It was genuinely nice of him to agree to talk to her in person when she had received his file on all the ships and Captains. She knew of the man but had never had a one on one conversation like this before.

"Hello, Commodore. Thank you for agreeing to talk to me about your former task force." She said softly in the cool manner that was so unlike a normal Betazoid.

"Not a problem Captain," he nodded to the Officer. He leaned back in his, "so my replacement aye," he asked? "I am not sure if I should give you a hearty congrats, or offer my condolences." He laughed, commanding a ship was one thing. But supervising a whole Task Group was a completely different thing. "So what can I do fer ya?" he asked.

The woman smiled at the accent the man had and nodded not sure how to take his laughter. For a Betazoid she knew she was a unique case who didn't always understand emotions at the more complex level especially from humans. "I am indeed your replacement. And from what I have heard so far I have pretty big shoes to fill." The woman admitted thinking that she was lying in any shape or form about that. "I am wondering if there is anything in your reports of the ships in your former task group that you feel I need to know."

"With the way things move around here," he smirked, "I am not sure those ships would be in your Task Group by the time I finished the report. I guess that would be my first piece of advice.. don't get attached." He folded his arms, "it sounds cold, and I am aware of that. But things change, everything does. Serve your commanding officers to the best of your ability but know that you could wake up tomorrow and things will be totally different."

Ledeya could see the humour all over the man's face especially as she spotted a child sneaking into view. "Yes, I originally had Elysium and Mercutio as well." The woman snorted. It wasn't unheard of to have Task Groups change often but it seemed to be an event that happened more than she liked it to in her settling in period.

"They transferred the Elysium," he questioned, "I wasn't aware of that. Good ship, and a good Commander." He pulled up a report, "what ships do you have now?"

“Orion, Cassiopeia, Starbase 249 and Athena.” She spilled off the list. “I am relieved to know longer have the Odyssey in my Task Group to be honest.” She admitted before she coughed politely and pointed to the tiny figure.

"Orion is a good ship, solid crew, and a good Commander," he added, "same with the Cassiopeia, the other two I admit I don't know much about. I met with the Captain of the Cassie, when he took over that command. Take care of that one, he will do well."

“Yes, I know the Executive Officer. Seems like a solid crew. I wish I was getting the chance to see what they were.” She mused knowing he would know what she was on about from the meeting. The woman let out a small laugh as she saw the child finally sneak up on the man and launched herself at him.

Neil screamed, playfully, as he picked up the child. "Captain meet my daughter Tess," he stated holding her upside down. "She's supposed to be getting ready for a bath and bed here soon..." he gave her a look. He set her down as Tess waved at the screen, "hi," she smiled.

"Merry Meet little one," Ledaya said softly nodding at the girl and smiled at the cheekiness she could see in the tiny human's eyes. It wasn't often a child shone through a holo-communication like that but it was easy to see that she seemed hard work. "Seems you are being strong willed and not doing what your daddy is saying."

Tess laughed as she cupped her mouth, her face turning red, "maybe a little." She reached up and kissed Neil's cheek, "night Daddy. " And without missing a beat took off screaming down the hall.

"My apologies Captain," he sighed, "the benefit of doing these from home I suppose." His face was a bit red showing his embarrassment, but he kept his composure.

Ledeya smiled at the human as she watched the interaction between the pair. "Never apologise for a family member who has shown you affection and love Sir." The Betazoid said gently before she shook her thoughts free from thinking on her own family and the mess there. "Thank you for your time. I better let you go." She realised.
