Dixoho has been awake for a while, just lying in bed, thinking over her life and how the person she had become had been created. Had it been before she was even conceived? Or had she been born to have the same chances as the woman that was held in the brig many decks below? She turned to snuggle against the man's right shoulder and smiled at the warmth under her cheek. She always slept on this side of the bed, thanks to Micheal's hatred of his cybernetic arm, but the woman didn't care, he was there and alive.
Feeling the delicious warmth of the body lying next to him, Micheal smiled contently as he slowly opened his right eye and activated the feed from his cybernetic left eye. Turning his head toward the beautiful Trill, he slowly ran the tips of the fingers on his right hand down along her naked back. "Good morning, my love. How long have you been watching me?"
"For a while. It is not often I get to do this." The woman pointed out. She sighed happily, with a small grin, as she felt his hand run up and down her body as if he was memorizing every inch of her.
Micheal chuckled softly. "Well, we could make this a more permanent arrangement?" He knew she knew how he felt about her. While she was married, they both knew that it was a marriage in name only. This is where she belonged, in Micheal's embrace.
It was strange how natural it all felt, waking next to him, kissing him like it was something she did every day, slipping his fingers over skin that was normally buried under layers of fabric. "You know that is impossible." She breathed softly.
Micheal gave Dixoho a slightly sad smile. "Yeah, I know," he acquiesced with a sigh. "At least for now. Who knows what the future holds, my love."
"I know that you will have nothing to do with hastening his death or my divorce." Dixoho reminded as she started to make a move to leave the bed or just to put a little space between them.
Micheal wrapped his right arm around Dixoho's warm shoulders and pulled her back to his chest. "Beloved," he said quietly and earnestly, "You have my word that no harm will ever come to him from me or my crew under my orders. Forcing an end to that relationship beyond your, or his, choice, would cause you pain. I would sooner rip my own heart out than hurt you in any way." He paused briefly as he gazed deep into her eyes. "I hope you know me well enough to know I am, if nothing else, a man of my word."
"You are, but I know you, and sometimes you like to bend rules." The woman said, kissing his bare shoulder. He didn't understand the reasoning behind it, she knew that. However, if she told him the reasoning, he would be more determined to end the connection.
Micheal smiled softly and replied, his voice choking up a bit with pure love. "Not with you, Di. I never take any chances where you are concerned. Even if that means all we can ever have are these few, glorious moments in our lives together, I will never do anything to jeopardize this." He moved his artificial left hand over to cover the spot on her bare chest, right over her heart. "You are too important to me."
Dixoho shook her head, her red hair falling in her face. Running her hand down the length of his side, noting the curves of his body like an artist notes brushstrokes, she whispered groggily, "It's not even close to morning yet, right?" She asked hopefully.
"Uh-huh," Micheal replied just before he yawned and stretched under Dixoho's perfect form. "Do you want to go back to sleep...or something else?" He finished asking with a playful smirk.
The woman smiled, they should sleep really. They didn't get the opportunity often to just be comfortable together and do something almost normal. "What would you like to do Captain?" She soothed softly, thinking of Nathan for a moment and the fact he should, in theory, be getting his reward after everything around now.
Micheal grinned hungrily, then leaned closer to kiss Dixoho on the lips. Unfortunately, he was interrupted by his comm unit beeping. He ignored it and resumed kissing Dixoho deeply.
There was always something of the devil in the man when he grinned at her like that so Dixoho leant out and found the comm unit and pressed it forcing him to break the kiss to answer it. Sometimes she needed to remind him to cool down.
Growling softly as he realized what Dixoho had done, Micheal released her and spoke aloud, angrily. "Whoever this is, you had best have a damn good reason to disturb me."
"Forgive the intrusion, Master," the sultry voice of Rebecca, the A.I. connected to his ship, now in possession of the other Micheal's vessel, was heard. "I would not have done so without cause."
"Well?!" Micheal replied, getting both annoyed and possibly a little worried.
"Per your orders, I am remaining at an undisclosed location, evading both Reuben's and the Admiral's ships as they continue their search for me. While they are slow, they ate getting smarter in their search patterns. I fear it will only be a matter of hours before they find me. What are your orders, Master?"
Micheal sat up, clearly disturbed by this new development. He had hoped to keep the cloaked shuttle nearby, in case he needed to use it against the Russian. Now, though...
"Execute evasive plans Tau Seven." He then ended the communication by deactivating the comm device. He turned and lowered his feet to the floor, sitting on the edge of the bed for a few beats. He then stood and started pacing, clearly thinking furiously about something. Finally, he moved to stand in front of one of the windows in the room. Outside, he could see the flurry of activity that was taking place between the two ships. How is it that that damn Russian always seemed three steps ahead of him.
Suddenly, in a spark of rage, he crushed the comm unit in his cybernetic left hand. "Damn him," he whispered quietly.
Dixoho stayed silent before she lay on her side watching him pace back and forth. It would be easier to let the man just wear himself out if he didn't wear the carpet out first. "Well, that wasn't exactly helpful Michael. What did you think was going to happen? I am surprised your crew hasn't been put under an Interrogator yet." The woman said with a shaking of her head.
Still gazing out the window, Micheal slowly shook his head. "It wouldn't make a difference," he responded before turning his head to look over his right shoulder at her. "The Grand Inquisitor herself wouldn't find anything from my crew, because they don't know anything. While there are a few on my ship that I do trust somewhat, none of them know everything of what I do. The only one who does is me, and thanks to these implants, there are parts of my mind that can't be forcibly searched."
Dixoho watched the man and finally had enough of him being pensive and walked up behind him. "I'm sure Seline would be able to." She goaded before pressing up behind him laying her head on his shoulder. "Stop worrying. If the Butcher of Betazed wanted you dead you would already be that."
Smiling softly, Micheal let lose a quiet chuckle, deep in his chest. "One thing you should remember about me, my love. I'm not the one who gets killed, I'm the one who does the killing." He turned and lifted the woman effortlessly, then carried her back to bed.
