Eden had her back to the door when she heard it swish open. No one else would enter the Captain's quarters except the Captain so it put a smile on her face as she leaned over the PADD she had in her lap. "Guess what I've been doing?" she said without looking up at him. "I can't wait to share this with you, it's been so fun."

Sebastian was surprised to find her there and not surprised at the same time. He had asked her to come and go as she pleased but he had not come off shift yet to find her there waiting for him. "I dread to guess." The man said seeing the excitement in her eyes. It was going to be adorable he was pretty sure.

"Poetry!" She exclaimed in a much higher voice than she usually used. "I've been trying different formats like haiku and pantoum. But, my favorite is the sonnet. Would you like to hear some?" Eden hid the PADD behind her back and stood up her very straightest facing him with just a hint of a smile on her face.

"Poetry?" The man wondered removing his blue jacket putting it over the back of the chair before moving to sit on the sofa looking at the woman unsure. Had there been a new clue created on board and she had joined?

"Yes. Ready for this? Of course you are." She whipped the PADD from behind her back and began to read very seriously.

Ode to the Boyfriend
by Eden
My calm boyfriend, you inspire me to write.
I love the way you run, wallow and roar,
Invading my mind day and through the night,
Always dreaming about the dreamy boer.

Let me compare you to a pretender?
You are more funny, amusing and sharp.
Bright frost nips the robins of December,
And wintertime has the accusing karp.

How do I love you? Let me count the ways.
I love your confusing chin, teeth and eyes.
Thinking of your cunning teeth fills my days.
My love for you is the bruising devise.

Now I must away with a musing heart,
Remember my cold words whilst we're apart."

Eden stopped reading and looked at him waiting for some kind of reaction.

The Captain listened thoughtfully as he tried to find some words to say. It was hard not to laugh but she had put so much work into it. "Well that was enlightening into your thoughts on me." He finally said offering a hand out to her.

She grinned at him. "It was fun." Eden let herself be pulled down next to him. "Maybe you should write a poem about me and we can compare notes." She said, kissing him on the cheek. "So how as your day on the bridge?

"I am awful as that type of thing. I was a scientist before command." He reminded her with a patient smile. He literally had no skills writing other than writing reports. "Not bad. I chose a new XO." He admitted already knowing the scuttle butt would be rife around the ship but she was unlike to have heard as of yet.

"Oh? What's he or she like?" Eden was enjoying being cuddled up against him. "You know, I don't really know a lot of people on board. I think I have a bit too much personality for some people."

Sebastian smirked a little. If only they knew what they were missing out on, he thought to himself. "Oh, you know this person." He quickly assured knowing she knew him from the planets where he thought he had lost most of his senior officers and the woman he loved.

"Hmm . . . and you're not going to tell me? Maybe I should continue to read poetry instead?" She teased though she really had no desire to move from this spot.

Sebastian smiled and settled into the cuddle a little more. He wanted to shower and have an early night but this was almost as good as unwinding to his muscles and mind. "Oh, I can tell you. The whole ship is already aware." He said with a shrug careful not to move too much and dislodge her. "Lieutenant Bray." He said softly not sure how she would take it.

Eden didn't stiffen or pull away but she did blink as she looked him in the eye. "Oh." She said. "Well I'm glad you found someone." She didn't trust Bray, but maybe Sebastian already knew that. She supposed she didn't have a good reason for not trusting him, only what had happened down on the planet.

Sebastian had suspected that something more had happened on the planet but now the look as she blinked at him as she processed it all confirmed it. "Me too but would you like to talk about the planet?" He offered gently stroking a stray lock from her face back behind her ear.

She leaned into his touch. She trusted Sebastian. "Well I don't remember everything. None of us were thinking clearly and I know that. But, I do remember Ryder and I sort of got into a fight. He thought I was behaving oddly, I thought I wasn't and he tried to carry me back to the shuttle. I may or may not have shot him in the leg and he still kept coming after me but I got away a climbed a tree."

The man frowned at the shooting comment before rolling his eyes at the tree comment. The woman would never change he realised and it reassured him a little that she was so steadfast in how she was. He needed something that would not change on him. "I'm not even sure I am ready to hear about the fact you shot Bray in the leg." He mused.

"Sorry," Eden said sincerely. "At the time it seemed like a good idea because he was trying to carry me off. I was completely convinced he was the one acting weird and not me. I'm sure both of us were out of our minds. I haven't really talked to him since then though. I suppose I should apologize."

Sebastian nodded. Talking and communicating were always the best policy in his opinion. “Possibly. It would make sense and might help the feeling that you have around him.” Sebastian suggested softly pressing a kiss to her forehead.

"I will do that then." She said, wondering what he was thinking. "Are you disappointed?"

"Over what?" He wondered looking at her confused. Did he sound disappointed?

"That I shot him, that I haven't made any attempt at making amends since we got back to the ship and slept off the affects of the planet?" Eden asked, running her fingers along his scalp.

Sebastian shook his head at her and smiled a little more. "Not in the slightest." He assured quickly. "Everything happens in its own time." It was a foolish philosophy sometimes but he believed that with everything he has.

"Okay," Eden said convinced he was telling her the truth. "Well," She said straightening up. "I was thinking about a shower and maybe a massage because I have this crick in my neck. Care to join me?" She rose from her spot on the sofa and offered her hand to Sebastian.

The man raised an eyebrow at her suggestion. She had never been so forward before and the smile that slowly appeared on his face showed just how appealing he found the idea. "Well, how can I ignore that offer?" He took the hand standing up weakly. A shower did sound very appealing to him without her, adding her in and he was already wishing he was there.
