The Lift Part 2

Posted on Wed Apr 1st, 2020 @ 9:43pm by Commodore Ledeya ‘Ed’ Ehestri (*) & Chief Helmsman Eden Bowers

Mission: Mission 11 - Prospecting
Location: Starbase 621, Turbo Lift
Timeline: 2396
850 words - 1.7 OF Standard Post Measure

When everyone had vacated the turbolift except Lake and Ledeya he couldn't control his emotions any longer, a smirk escaped onto his lips and he glanced up at her. "Care to explain that?"

"Not in the slightest," Ledeya said tugging her jacket back into place properly and looking straight ahead.

"Aww, come on," Lake grinned wider. "I'm going to die of curiosity now. Maybe I'm jealous." He wasn't, not in the slightest. It didn't take a Betazoid to know that she wasn't the least bit interested in the man.

Ledeya frowned and looked at him concerned that he really was jealous of the Bolian's outrageousness and flirting. It had been insufferable and only stopped when the turbolift had been plunged into darkness.

"So how did you meet this guy? You have to give me some details here." Lake said watching her stare at him. "Then I'll leave you alone about it."

"I met him on Cosmos about five years ago." Ledeya went into the story about how they had, had the world worst date. The only good thing is it had been meeting Ranav at the end of the night.

"Okay." Lake answered then sighed. He moved toward her. "Something you'd rather forget? Want me to beat him up for you or something." He reached up and traced a finger across her face.

As he moved towards her Ledeya leant out and stopped the turbolift in its track and pulled him closer. "Completely." She whispered. "Help me?"

"Aww, you're okay." Lake said enveloping her in his arms. "Don't let him get to you. I know it's really nice to have someone else take care of you but honestly Ledeya I don't really worry about you that much. You have this inner strength plus you're a commodore. If he's acting inappropriately you could have him busted down to ensign and be cleaning all the transporter pads with a toothbrush for the rest of his life."

It would be so easy to not take this moment when she had a million other things going on but she was sure that after the little display that she needed something a little different from the reminder of five years ago. “No I mean help me forget.” She whispered backing up until her back was against the wall of the turbo lift.

"Oh," Lake let out a little laugh. "That I can do." He kissed her passionately, lifting her off the deck plating even. He kissed her so long he was afraid someone would call the turbolift and it was going to begin moving again. "Since when are we married?" He teased when he finally pulled away, referring to her earlier comment to the Bolian.

Ledeya wrapped her legs around him as she was lifted up easily. She kissed him back just as passionately, letting loose for the first time with him. “Well Karis wasn’t exactly in the right frame of mind to help.”

He assumed she was talking about the red-head who had flown the coop. "Distract you? I certainly hope not," he teased and then sighed. "Why do you have to be so damn beautiful? Now I need to add cold shower on my list of things to do."

“I meant she would have been no help if I had suggested that it was her I married. You at least played along.” She laughed softly before ducking her head to kiss his neck.

"Hmm," Lake said losing himself for a moment. He chuckled putting her down. "Seriously, we should be behaving ourselves here. But . . . you could come over for dinner?"

"No one can override me." The woman grinned a little before she swept her hair out of her face and tugged her jacket down into place. "I have dinner plans I am afraid." She had to go and catch up with Jared around the state of play.

"Aww," Lake said with a bit of a pout on his face. "Breakfast?" He winked at her.

"Maybe. Depends if you mind me turning up at yours after dinner?" She said back in the same tone. She was pretty sure she was playing with fire and how confusing these new emotions were in her.

"You are welcome anytime of the day or night, even if you just need a place to sleep." Lake was surprised by the seriousness of her affections just now and he didn't want to take a step they weren't ready for.

"I understand." Ledeya nodded at him and took the hint leaning out to allow the turbo lift to be called again. It was rushing and she suddenly felt the need to do so.

"Do you? Come by anyway, we can snuggle and make sure you get some sleep." Lake reached for her quickly, planting a kiss on her forehead before moving away in case anyone else got on board. "I'll see you tonight hopefully." He exited at the next stop, leaving her there all alone.
