The engineers did their part, and Alika flopped back, leaning on the bulkhead behind her. "I bet it was Mildred Mango in the kitchen, with the dilithium spanner."

Tabitha ignored Jess's self-protective attitude and focused on the job. She looked in as the wall cooled but it was too dark. What she felt was a strange Lingering, and something lurking.

ON::

Jeassaho peered through the darkness looking at the hole she had created and the sense of doom everyone was feeling around her. She slowly pulled up her welding mask and grabbed up a flashlight from her belt just as the corridor light flickered and turned off making the darkness that seemed to seep from the hole in the bulkhead more intense.

“Figures right?” The Betazoid said trying to sound bright about the situation as she felt her shipmates doom.

Just next to her, Alika had weaseled her way between the engineers, peering over the edge of the entrance. ".... Damn. What do you think is in there?"

"Not a clue," Jeassaho said raising her flashlight trying to peer through the cutout bulkhead.

"Damn," Bradon exclaimed. "Again?" He was definitely going to have to do something about the ship. Pulling a penlight from his pocket, he clicked it on. "Probably blew a circuit," he said, loud enough for everyone to hear him. "I am going to check it out. Hang tight." With that, he headed down the corridor toward the power junction at the end of the hall.

"It's pure dark and trusts the lights to go now." Rueben murmured moving past the pair peering in the entrance. He took the flashlight and stepped over the threshold into the gap. As the Captain disappeared a huge cloud of dust slipped out of the gap covering the corridor.

"By the deities... Rueben!" Jeassaho yelled trying to find him in the darkness.

Tabitha shivered. "Someone died in there. Can't you feel it?? It's like a Tomb." She backed a step, wishing her doctor lover were there so she could hide in his shadow.

"Don't be daft," Dixie muttered as she moved to join Jeassaho trying to see into the gap where Rueben had run off to. If the other Betazoid wasn't worried about it or saying anything she wasn't worried.

"Bradon you got those lights working?" Jessaho called as she tried to see with the silver of light her flashlight allowed. "Damn him I am going in." The small Betazoid said sweeping the dust out of view, it coated her dark hair and shirt.

Jeassaho voice echoed down the corridor as Braden was digging his was through the mass of components that made up even the simplest power junction. This had turned out to be one of the four main ones for this deck, so it was a bit more troublesome than expected.

"Whole deck's out!" he shouted back to Jeassaho. "May have to grab some spare breakers from Engineering. Not sure yet. Still digging to find the root cause of the overload. Probably be a few minutes!"

"I can't find the Captain in the pitch black," Jeassaho called back.

Finn sighed, as a shrug wouldn't help in the darkness. "Well, we'd have seen a transporter beam, so unless he's fallen through a wardrobe into Narnia, he's in there." He tried looking in, but the dust was making things a bit blurry. He'd recognized others with Betazoid blood in the crew, so he left anything mental to them. He was a bit embarrassed by how weak his own abilities were. Thanks to his mother, he looked nothing like most Betazoids, though, so he typically didn't even mention it.

"I think the problem is in here like you though Chief." Rueben's voice finally declared from inside the gap in the wall. He stuck his head out himself covered in the strange brown dust that the Engineer and anyone who was stood near the gap was. "You guys need to come and have a look inside of here." He murmured softly. The Russian's eyes were wide in what Jeassaho could describe as excitement and wonder.

"Ah, there we go!" The lights in the corridor flickered once or twice, then steadily brightened until they were back to normal illumination. Bradon walked back toward the group. "What have you got there?" he called out as he approached.

Tabitha didn't mind the dark, but the death feel, That scared her.. "I think I'll stay out here.." She couldn't believe Jess didn't feel what she felt.. Maybe Tabs wasn't quite right... All she knew was until someone did a DNA scan she wasn't moving... "Maybe someone should check for remains or something...??"

Dixie tutted again and moved to Jeassaho. "There is nothing there," Jeassaho said softly not at all sure what the hybrid was feeling but there was nothing alive so nothing to sense.

Ben hovered near the back of the room. He wasn't precisely sure what he was doing here. It wasn't for his fighting prowess that was for sure. It wasn't for his oratory skill, skills he did actually possess, they weren't needed here. Maybe it was because of his ability to observe. So because of that, he took in a deep breath and just watched what was happening.

"We'll learn nothing lounging about out here," Finn stepped through the opening and into the newly exposed room. He'd never put much faith in ghost stories, and he wasn't about to start now. He flipped open the tricorder he'd managed to cobble together from several he'd found left behind and began scanning the room.

Tabitha pulled her Tricorder as well, turning it to follow her senses, HOPING to find nothing. She took a deep breath and stepped into the room, with a shiver. But she didn't seem to find anything.

"You know people die when they go face-first into danger," Alika warned, folding arms against her chest. So much for being 'courageous second-in-command.' "Boss shouldn't 'ave gone in there t'begin with. Keep in contact, don't go too far!"

Finn mumbled under his breath, "Aye, but you never live until you go face-first into danger, either."
