Wearing tan shorts and a bright blue Hawaiian shirt, complemented with sandals, Lhaes arrived at the 'party'. He had found someone to watch the kids and was actually looking forward to having some time to himself. "Whatever is cooking, it smells delicious," he commented as he approached the nearby group of people.

"Hey Doc," Deacon said with a genuine smile, "It's good to see you were able to make it back. Yad found something special for you." Digging in one of the barrels he came back with a litre bottle of blue liquid. "One of the local brewers claims it's supposed to taste like 'Romulan Wine'?" the Rigellian shrugged handing Lhaes the bottle, "All the kick of ale but none of the harshness. He wanted to know what you thought."

Lhaes eyed the barrel curiously but was hesitant to try the sparkling blue liquid that poured into the glass he held under the tap. It looked similar, it smelled similar, but if it wasn't exactly the same thing, it was dangerous for him to try. "Is this similar to, or is this Romulan Ale?" he asked. Because for some odd reason, the real Romulan Ale was the only alcoholic beverage he could consume. Anything else alcoholic, or even syntheholic and he would have a severe allergic reaction.

"Well, my good Doctor that is the question." Yad answered as he came back to group with tray of food, "My niece made it with actual Romulan lehe'jhme fruit, that we have cultivated here, and she ended up raking the barrels seven times to produce that fine liquid." the azzian explained, "Spectrographicly it is 99.7% similar to true ale, but the finish is usually smooth."

"I think I've got an allergy hypo if you're uncertain," Caden added, gesturing toward the medical bag that he had brought with him. He may have wanted to have fun, but that didn't mean he couldn't be prepared. "But if you're still unsure, the non-alcoholic stuff looked good too."

"No offence to your family member, but I think it's safer to stick to drinks that I know are safe for me," Lhaes smiled, "but I do appreciate the offer. And yours," he added, looking to Caden. "Thank you."

Reessem sat down with Lhaes and smiled softly. "I didn't think this was your scene at all." She murmured trying very hard to ignore Deacon stood watching her.

Lhaes looked sideways at Reessem, studying the girl for a moment. "How do you know whether this is my scene?" he queried curiously, "we've not really met or spoken before now...unless you have been digging?"

Reessem let out a soft chuckle and shook her head. "No Mon Ami... not digging from me I promise." She assured quickly. "I've tried to speak to you four times and said hello at least twice in the corridor and been ignored. I don't take it personally but you seem quite reserved." She smiled sweetly as she saw the Captain join the group wearing shorts and a white tee. "Wow... ever seen him in something other than black?"

Following her gaze, the Romulan shook his head. "No, but then I do think black trousers would be too warm in this climate." He turned his gaze back to her.

The Captain spoke but Reessem didn't say anything as everyone just smiled and teased.

"I never meant to ignore you, and I assure you I'm not as reserved as you think I am. I probably was pre-occupied, I can get too focused on what I need to do, which comes with my profession. Next time just grab my sleeve alright?" He smiled back at her, grey eyes seeming lighter as they sparkled. "Was there a particular reason you needed to talk to me?"

"It happens. I do not take offence. Not overly wanted to talk as I am quite well. Was just introducing myself mostly as I am the person you talk to when you need to order stuff." She grinned thinking of the conversation when Sickbay had been discussed with who would be taking over the leadership of it now that Mott was back at Starfleet.

"Ahh, that is good to know," Lhaes smiled, "in that case, you can call me Lhaes when off duty and Doctor Sommers when on duty." He offered his hand in greeting, mentally steeling himself against the touch of hands. "And yes, that's not a Romulan last name, I know," he added with a grin.

"I wouldn't know what is a Romulan name and isn't." The woman admitted as she looked around at everyone. It amused her that this man was still very much Starfleet with the on duty or off duty nonsense.

"My birth name is Lhaes i-Dekoa tr'Llhweiir," the Romulan informed her, still smiling, "though I was adopted when I was six years old. To fit in more, I use my adopted name. When dealing with Rihannsu, I often use my birth name even though I'm pretty much an outcast to them." He shrugged, as if he didn't care about it. "Doesn't matter to me, I'd treat them all the same if they need help. I'm a doctor first."

"Lhaes i-Dekoa tr'Llhweiir is a very formal but beautiful name." The teenager said with a small smile. "Rihannsu?" She wondered not having heard that word before but compared to everyone here she was an inexperienced and foolish girl.

"Romulans call themselves Rihannsu. The planets are..." he hesitated a second or two. "...were called Ch'Rihan and Ch'Havran. Romulus, and Remus."

Reessem nodded, that made sense to her now. She nodded at him as he corrected himself. No one would ever forget that huge loss of life but there and then was no the place or time.
