Dixoho finally stumbled out of the Executive Officers quarters to see the man in question walking towards her. She stopped and stood straighter; she could handle her booze better than her emotional turmoil that was for sure. This was not a day she had expected at all. “I did not kill him so you will be kept alive a bit longer.” She declared as a challenge to the man holding up her clean hands.
Kyle was headed back towards his office, which was next door to his cabin, reading a status report, when the doors to his cabin slid open and Dixoho stepped out into the corridor. Though, 'stepped', was a generous description. She had clearly had a few more glasses of the honey whiskey.
Hearing her slightly slurred statement caused him to grin. "Oh? Well then, I must thank you for this great gesture of concern for my welfare. I will have to remember it, so that I may properly repay you in due course." As soon as he finished speaking, his grin fell and his eyes grew harder than duranium. In a tone that left no question to its deadly seriousness, he said. "Repeat what you heard or saw in there to no one. While you may be protected by the Butcher of Betazed, others that you may care for are not. Do I make myself clear, Lieutenant Saa?"
Dixoho looked at him and smiled just a little. He really knew so little of the butcher and how he worked but he would learn soon enough. “You may have something that I remotely care about under your care back there.” She pointed to his quarters. “I will keep your secrets as long as they align with mine. So, if you want to keep your body guard, do not threaten me Sir.” She replied with a poke to his chest.
Kyle suddenly grinned a very predatory smile, showing the fangs he had had surgically implanted, in place of his upper canines. "My dear, sweet woman," he responded as he moved to whisper in her right ear. "I never threaten." He then straightened back up. "Now, if you have nothing official to report, you are dismissed, Lieutenant."
"But I do... Sir." Dixoho squeezed her fist on her waist, her dagger inches from her fingers. It would be so easy to take the rapt for killing this man but she strangely felt a calm feeling rising over her and looked up to see an almost angel walking down the corridor. It had to be an Inquisitor that would wander by and it had to be that one of all them - Selina Fenruse. Her blonde hair curled gracefully and an almost see-through white dress clinging to her.
"Good evening Commander Reece. Lieutenant K... Saa. Lovely evening for you both I see?" The Betazoid said softly.
Kyle felt the familiar mental tingle of an Inquisitor approaching from behind him. He was curious if he or she would attempt to delve into his mind. Curious and concerned. Curious to see if the information that had been compiled during the crossover event with the ancient freighter, SS Mary Rose, had been accurately disseminated. One particular piece was that the Alternate Universe Micheal Robertson had not been readable by Gregnol's Inquisitors, due to a device that was implanted in his brain. He was concerned because, after scrutinizing the scans made of the device, the Black Phoenix Group's R&D scientists had built what they felt was an approximate replica of the device. It had, of course, been tested, to the test subject's unfortunate demise. After being scanned by a captured telepath, both individuals died. The telepath just dropped dead, but the test subject screamed for twenty hours, ripping his ears off with his own hands, finally ending his suffering by bashing his own head in.
The device in Kyle's head was the fourth generation of attempts. His grandfather had decided that, as Kyle had been the overseer of the project, his would be either the attempt that was successful, or the last failure. Kyle certainly hoped for the former, more than to just save his own skin, but to get back in the good graces of the man he looked up to most. If the device worked, both subjects would be subjected to pain, but the mental read would be unsuccessful.
Turning, he recognized the Inquisitor. Selina Fenruse. Supposedly, she not only was Gregnol's favorite witch, but the Inquisitor that had done the initial scanning of the other Micheal. "Ah, Inquisitor Fenruse," he kept his mind blank and his outward emotions as pleasant as possible. "How nice it is to finally meet you." He gave her a disarming, lopsided grin, as he spoke.
“I’m sure it is but no one calls me that. It’s Selina. We Inquisitors only get called our ranks by people below us.” Selina said as she reached them offering a smile to the man who turned to look at her. She was on the thin side compared to both officers but where they wore dark uniforms she looked almost ethereal with long blonde hair. It was unusual for a Betazoid but after meeting her very pregnant alternative it was just Selina.
"Of course," Kyle stated as his eyes quickly took in Selina's appearance. Had he not already been in a committed relationship, he might try to see where things could go with the beautiful Betazoid in front of him.
Selina looked at Dixoho, something passing unseen between the pair until Dixoho almost growled and disappeared off. She would continue this another time but the damn witch was just an annoyance but she was what Dixoho had needed right then and there - a calming presence. “Goodnight Dixoho.” Selina called calmly after the woman watching her stomp off for a moment before she looked at Kyle. “You would do your best to avoid that one Commander. I do not think even your tastes go that far.” Selina mused not even attempting to read his mind.
Turning his head, he watched the young Trill storm off. He thought to himself that she was certainly as passionate a woman as Micheal had said she was. Turning his attention back to Selina, he responded. "My dear woman, you have no idea where my tastes can go." There was a hint of dangerous mischief in both his eyes and voice.
“You’re a man and a senior officer.” Selina answered simply as if that explained it all. “But I am pretty sure even she is too much for your tastes.” And she she was sure that Michael would never approve but she did not say that aloud to him.
Kyle gave a hungry grin. "My dear, believe me when I say it, No woman on this ship could hold a candle to my wife. She ensures that my tastes and desires, whatever they may be, are fully and properly satisfied." Speaking of his beautiful wife, Beth, suddenly gave Kyle a rather raunchy thought in his mind. The gift she had given him before he left for this assignment.
Selina just looked him up and down and smirked. She found it more than funny and it showed on her face. “An Imperial Officer in a loving relationship well I thought I had seen the last of those days when the butcher blew up Betazed with his wife on it.” She laughed a little before shaking her head. “I wish you luck Commander.” She said amused as she started to move in the direction that Dixoho had gone.
Kyle kept the humored grin on his face until Selina was gone, then it dropped down into a scowl. "Bitch." He muttered under his breath. While he wasn't racist to most alien species, something about the telepaths, especially the Betazoids, always rubbed him the wrong way. They way they strutted around, acting like they were better than everyone else. The Terrans were the dominant species in the galaxy as far as he was concerned. The rest, they just lived to serve the Empire.
