1078 words - 2.2 OF Standard Post Measure

The sickbay was quiet. Most of the crew was on the planet. There were just a few left aboard. Suddenly, a transporter beam deposited Micheal and Johnathan directly in the middle.

"Good girl," Micheal muttered to himself, proud of Rebecca's targeting on the beam out. "Doc! Anybody! Got a medical emergency here!"

Oliver peeked out from the pharmacy storage room off to one corner of the room, alarmed by the sudden noise and shouts for help. "What's going on?"

"Oliver!" Micheal called out when he saw the man. "We found Johnathan! But he's in real bad shape, caused more so by that excited little dino, Zambi. He's bleeding pretty badly!" He looked around, "Where's Vince?"

"Got the flu," Leiddem called from the biobed he had been lounging on as he leisurely got up looking at the situation. It was not often he got to hang out in medical anymore now that they had a decent team but today with Vince sick in bed with the flu it was a perfect time to sneak back in to help out. "But I am pretty sure we can deal with anything and everything."

"Get over here!" Micheal barked as he held his injured friend. “We found John! But he's hurt bad!"

"John? Who's John?" Oliver wondered, wandering over uncertainly. Seeing the body, he stepped up the pace. "Someone call Beya in here," he said as he brought up the medical diagnostic equipment. "Some serious injuries here. We'll need to get him sedated and start work on the more serious ones."

"Someone who disappeared over a year ago," Leiddem explained not wanting to go into details or anything. Was not the time or the place for it when there were wounds. Once the man was positioned on the biobed Leiddem frowned as he ran his tricorder over the whimpering man. "Looks like he was already given a shot of sedation?" The Betazoid medic commented on. "What happened down there?" He demanded as the door opened and in piled Jeassaho and Beya, both women looking annoyed in his opinion.

Before anyone else could speak, Johnathan suddenly called out, "KAAAAA'SEEEEEEE!!!!!" He then collapsed on the biobed, unconscious and bleeding.

Without a word, Micheal moved to the comm panel. "Bridge, this is Robertson, currently in sickbay. You better contact the Cap'n and let him know Rosie's last lost sheep has been brought home. And then, get Cassie Anderson back up here and into sickbay, on the double!" He then released the comm control, deactivating the interface again.

“Not sure she goes by Anderson anymore and we have plenty of lost sheep,” Leiddem commented on running a tricorder over the man. He was still very much alive.

"I could have stopped the bleeding by now if you hadn't run off with him," Beya snapped with a scowl at Michael, as she picked up a protoplast and started to work on the open wounds. "Oliver, get an IV started, he needs fluids and nutrients. Leiddam, grab a hypo with shock treatment and be ready with a delta wave inducer in case he starts to come around while I'm working."

“Well, that was not exactly smart.” Leiddem agreed to gather what he needed to assist. “Maybe we need to do a first aid course for people?” He suggested not sure if his chatter was good or bad but it stopped the nerves inside of him when Cassie found out.

"That would be sensible, seeing as how often you all seem to end up in fine messes," Oliver retorted. "IV line is in. His leg looks to be in a bad way."

"Most of its old wounds, reparable, I think, but that can wait. The bites and tears are what needs immediate attention," Beya observed as she worked on those. "I'm more concerned with the electrical burns on his upper body. Those could mean neurological damage,"

“Most likely has happened because he should have been able to contact and gotten back to us if he was in the right frame of mind,” Leiddem commented on frowning as he started scanning the mentioned area.

Micheal remained off to the side, out of the way, silently praying to every deity that he knew of, asking for help to heal his friend.

"Okay, I have the bleeding stopped and the lacerations patched. Oliver, why don't you start on the breaks and I'll do the burns," Beya said, as she started a neurological scan. "I can deal with some nerve damage, but anything affecting his brain is going to have to wait for Doctor Vinny."

"I'll get the infuser warmed up," Oliver nodded. Bone breakages were pretty simple anyway.

Leiddem said nothing as he watched the mans bio signs blipping up and down steadily. “He seems to be more stable looks like he… oh shit…. Trouble.” He warned as Cassie appeared through the open door with Gregnol.

"Goes without saying that trouble is that last thing he needs right now," Oliver urged softly. "We're going to need a few hours working at fixing a lot of this damage."

Cassie looked at the scene taking her husband lying there unconscious and the damage that was around him. She shook her head and left she was not going to be there watching the medical procedure. “Ka…” Gregnol called but the woman was gone. “Someone wants to explain?” He demanded.

"Respectfully, sir," Beya said as she examined the burn scars and neural scan. "Most of us have other things we need to concentrate on right now."

Gregnol frowned but held his tongue. "Okay make it simple is he going to live?" Gregnol asked.

"Reuben... he will if we are not bothered," Leiddem said diplomatically. The man knew his brother in law was a grumpy so and so who could match anyone snark. It was easier to appease him quickly with getting to the point.

Micheal saw Cassie storm in and then leave. He almost went after her but, recognised that he would certainly be the last person that she wanted to see. He sighed to himself. Maybe it would've been better If I never found the Elysium and came home from the Andromeda galaxy the first time. Everyone would certainly be better off.

Quietly, he slipped out of Sickbay before anyone else saw him. He had things to seriously think about.

"Okay, we can work now," Beya muttered, as she applied a hypo. "We should be able to get him stable."
