Mission: Mission 5 - Liberation
Location: Transporter Room One
Timeline: About 10 minutes after Ishimura crew are rescued
331 words - 0.7 OF Standard Post Measure

The transporter room was still completely activated from the return of the Ishimura survivors. The transporter still humming, full of power.

Suddenly, the transporter control panel started to smoke. Small tendrals of black, acrid smoke, began to rise from the slide controls. Then, the entire console erupted in sparks and fire.

Over the cacophony of the destruction of the console, the sound of a transporter sequence could be heard. In the next instant, a form started to coalesce upon the front right pad in the transporter chamber. It was a humanoid form!

As the transporter sequence ended, the back of the human was visible from the vantage point of the ruined control console. Then, slowly, the form began to fall backwards. As it crashed over the steps leading up onto the chamber, the form could suddenly be identified as the former master of the Ishimura himself!

Unfortunately, it was clear that the brave captain was dead. The angle of the neck, after crashing to the deck made that a certainly.

If someone had been in the transporter room at that instant, they would begin to detect a sickly sweet smell that began to eminate from the body. Suddenly, all of the color of the man's skin began to fade away. In seconds, the corpse was white as a sheet. Finally, a small white cloud, about the size of a ripe orange, slowly began to rise from the captain's chest. It was the piece of the menacing cloud creature that had entered the Captain an instant before the transport cycle had dematerialized him.

Feeling weak and a bit disoriented, the miniscule cloud began to feel it's instinctual drive resume after it's long hibernation. Slowly, it began to rise. It then altered it's course and passed through the chamber bulkhead. It had to rest and regain it's strength.

Then, when it was ready....

It would feed.
