ON:::

The first thing that Micheal became aware of was the rhythmic beeping of the biobed sensors, which were keeping a close eye on his vitals. The next thing that he became aware of, was the pain. His entire body was protesting in pain to his brain. While the sensations were not as sharp or as horrendous as they were while he was captured, he was familiar with the pain of healing. He knew, even with modern medicine, his road to full recovery would be a long one.

Lhaes leaned over his patient, his trusty tricorder in hand. "Ahh welcome back Mister Robertson," he spoke softly while checking his readings, "just lay still for a moment and allow yourself to come to awareness."

"Okay let's wake him up.... see how he is?" The Captain suggested wanting to be there when he woke up. He was worried about both Security and Navigator Chief. Neither was in great shape but at least he was allowed in the same room as the man, the woman was still in ICU depressurising. Reuben didn't expect to see the man looking at him so quickly. "Welcome back Micheal."

While feeling weak and in pain, the large Texan tried to sit up as he replied. "Dix...?" He croaked, his voice very raw. He cringed as his body protested loudly at his moving.

"Stay still," Kea ordered, looking at the other medical staff around them. The Captain moved a little closer and leaned over.

"She's here. She's not good but she's onboard." The man said, looking back at Luka for him to explain more as he had been the one mostly looking after her to limit contact just in case.

Micheal did as he was instructed and laid back down. Turning his gaze over to Luka, his eyes clearly begged for information about the woman that he loved.

"She'll be alright," Luka reassured. "Doctor Sommers did most of the initial healing, but I've been in to monitor her enough. She simply needs a little more time to rest." He kept a watchful eye on Micheal, keying in on the concern. "She's a tough one, and I don't expect the good doctor would let her health fall."

"I would not," Lhaes supplied, "She is safe, and she will be alright in due time. She still has a few hours remaining in the tank, until we get her back to normal pressure. But I assure you, we are keeping close tabs on her. As soon as she is able to get out, I will call upon you to be with her." He gave the man a reassuring smile. "As for you, you have been gravely injured yourself but we have managed to repair most of it. The last part, your body will have to do for itself, especially muscle repair. I'd advise you to rest as much as you can and as soon as you are well enough we will start you on physical therapy."

Micheal nodded wordlessly. He was beyond exhaustion to really care about much else than Dix. His eyes began to close, but then snapped back open. "The shapeshifter! Did you get the shapeshifter?!"

"Afraid not mate," Leddiem said softly looking at Reuben. The Captain stayed quiet thoughtfully watching things. "She had a backup plan to escape and evade. Don't worry about it for now. ."

There was a glint of fear in the Texan's eyes, upon hearing that worrisome piece of news. The fact that the creature had escaped would only spell more danger, both for Dixoho and himself. Possibly even the Rosie as well. Once he was well enough, he would have Rebecca begin a search for the creature. He had to find it before it found them.

The room was silent as everyone just looked at the man. "Like Kea said don't worry about her for now. Don't worry about anything other than you getting better." Reuben finally said softly. He had a plan for the shapeshifter after she hurt his crew so badly.

Lhaes nodded in agreement, reaching to ease the man back down onto his bed. "You rest now," he suggested quietly, "we'll have security stand watch outside sickbay if that'll ease your mind. I'll even allow them inside sickbay if that'll make you feel better. But for her sake, and yours, I strongly suggest you get some sleep."

While still slightly agitated, Micheal knew that the Doc wouldn't lie to him. Slowly, he closed his eyes and slipped, gently, back into unconsciousness. While his vitals started to calm, his brain activity was still firing at full speed, as if he was beginning to relive something traumatic.
