Movie Night

Dixoho sat at the back of the rec room, drinking a large-looking whiskey, as the room slowly started to fill up with people who were looking forward to the film night instead of the normal music that happened in the compartment. It wasn't a new thing as it happened once a week, but people were excited about the classic film that was being shown. "I don't understand the excitement?" She said to herself, not realising anyone would overhear her at all.

"That's because you've never seen this movie. It's beyond a classic. It was originally produced back in the 1930's, on Earth." Micheal responded as he moved to sit next to the beautiful redhead. He leaned in and gave her a soft kiss on the back of her neck, then whispered, "How're you feeling, sweetheart?"

The woman turned and looked at the man as he appeared by her looking better than she had seen him since she had woken up. "Fine. I still don't remember." The woman answered softly knowing he would ask that next. "Why would I have seen a classic earth film?" She turned back to where an Engineer was setting up the old projector.

Micheal nodded a slight frown crossed his face. It concerned him that Dixoho still had gaps in her memory. However, if he stopped and think about it, he was envious of her memory gaps. He could still see every single moment of what happened to the both of them during their imprisonment.

Inhaling a sharp breath, he shook the bad memories out of his mind and smiled over at Dixoho as he sat down next to her, putting his right arm around behind her back. "Because it is one of the best ever made! It's up there with Jaws and Goonies. Stick with me, kid, I'll make sure you get a perfect education." He winked at her as he playfully nudged her.

Dixoho level him with an unsure look but said nothing as more people joined the growing crowd in the room. It was easier to not say anything when she was already not sure about the film, it seemed far too human and happy.

Lorenzo had never attended a movie night before and had spent much of the morning researching what kind of food as appropriate for such an event. So when he entered the Rec Room, Lorenzo felt confident in his choice. Popcorn! He had several large bowls of the stuff on a trolley, along with the drink he had selected, a carbonated refreshment called Coke. Lorenzo was unsure how the Coke would be as he had made it himself that morning and left it to chill as he made the popcorn. Lorenzo smiled at the people who were already in the room, "Come along my friends, I have popcorn and Coke, come and enjoy them! And please, tell me what you think of the Coke, I made it myself." Leaving the first trolley Lorenzo hurried back to his kitchen and collected the second trolley. His return was foretold by the delectable smell of freshly cooked pizzas. He grinned as he entered the room and gestured at the food, "And what movie night is complete without pizzas?" he chuckled, "And what self-respecting Italian doesn't know how to make the greatest pizzas?"

Jasper grinned as he entered carrying a tray covered with something he remembered having the last time an evening of movie watching. They were called Nachos, or at least that is what he thought. Tortilla chips smothered in ground beef, cheese, sour cream, onions, beans, tomatoes and a spicy sauce he thought he remembered as salsa. He had some plates and napkins in the other because they looked as if they could be rather messy.

"Hey everybody!" Jasper announced offering a broad smile, "hope you're all hungry." He looked around and chuckled, "what movies are we watching?"

Micheal grinned as he saw, and smelled, all of the delicious food. Looking back at Dixoho, he asked, "Would you like anything, sweetheart?"

Dixoho looked at the selection and shook her head. She wasn't hungry, had barely eaten anything since she had woken up. "No, you go get what you want. I am fine thank you." She assured softly looking him over again.

Placing the nachos with the other food Jasper looked around at the assembled group, "this is going to be epic."

Ambika came in with Maddy in tow looking to see if Leiddem had shown up, "Ambican I try some of the food?" Mady begged.

"Sure Kid," She answered still not comfortable with her 'mother role' "Let me help you fill up your plate"

Leiddem strode in and set himself down not far away with a few beer bottles. He looked shattered and liked he needed the beer. He offered a few smiles and waved before he settled on Ambika and nodded a little more. "Hey, Maddy." He greeted the kid he had found in a few locations over the last few days.

Ambika found herself flatfooted as she caught the Betazoid's smile, suddenly very aware of how I'll fitting her shirt must have looked, then wondering why that seemed to matter, Maddy, however, held none of her guardian's introspection "Lei-dee," she screamed with delight as she ran and jumped into he outstretched arms, "See Ambi, I told you her was going to come and protect us from the 'flying monkeys'" Mátéma said triumphantly, "Can Ambi sit with us, Lei-dee? She's brave, but I told her the monkeys would be most horrible."

"Offt..." The Betazoid man said pretending she was a heavyweight when in fact she barely weighed anything and the man could have hauled her over his shoulder without a thought. "Of course. I thought she was coming over anyhow." He said sitting down in a seat with the girl.

Tommy Bowsman and Kylie Franks then dressed as Dorothy and the scarecrow. Kylie's eyes grew wide as she looked around then turned as hit her boyfriends arm, "I told you this wasn't fancy dress!!! And don't say anything about how your legs pull off that dress so well!!"

As the rest of the crew laughed and complimented Bowsman's rubies stilettos, Deacon and Reessem snuck in and found themselves a couple of seats. "So if this normal for a human Move-V" Deacon whispered to the french-woman

"Sometimes... there is a film called Rocky Horror Show from the same century that people dress up for and dance to." Ressem mused softly as she tried to not laugh at Tommy and Kylie, Tommy was obviously in trouble when they got home that night.

"Can't say I ever liked horror," Jasper admitted.

He took in a deep breath trying to put away the images of his last moments aboard his doomed ship being hunted by the cloud creature. Seeing images of monsters didn't seem as if it would help him forget and heal from that tragic experience. He gathered up a plate full of food including some of his nachos and chuckled, "well whatever we're watching needs to start soon, "I do have to go to work later."

Micheal moved to the food cart and grabbed up a plateful of treats. After grabbing a couple beers next, he returned to his seat next to Dixoho. As he handed her one of the beers and put the snacks within her reach, the lights dimmed and the movie began.
