Mission: Mirror Mirror
Location: Holodeck
Timeline: 2396
1808 words - 3.6 OF Standard Post Measure

A bang rang through the holodeck stronger than any bell. A burst of pure power. Alex could feel it reverberating through her bones, the raw strength and brutality of the blow like lightning through her veins as the masked figure in front of her disappeared. Droplets burst from her hair, specks of sweat, as she crashed against Another figure just in time for the holodeck arch to appear. “Hello, Jake.” She called not looking back.

Jake's face screwed up a little as he realised she was there. It wasn't initially clear what she was doing, but he clocked the workout gear and assumed that she was doing something related. "Getting some practice in. Good." He knew she would clock the intent behind the statement. Damned Betazoids were always in someone else's head. Even with practice, it was frustrating to be around. "I'm still alive, by the way."

"Only because I have stopped two attempts on your life." Alexis pointed out turning around to look at him properly. It was nice to let loose for a moment and to be wearing something other than a flimsy dress.

"Keep telling yourself that," he snorted. "One day perhaps I'll believe it too." He watched her stretch lecherously. Out of her normal clothing, he couldn't help but note she had a great figure. A pity she chose to waste it on the Butcher. "You wanted to speak to me?"

"I do not waste myself on him. He doesn't actually require me in his bed. He has lost his taste for Betazoid's since burning our homeworld." Alexis commented on with a smirk as she stared back at him. "I do keep telling myself that I save your life, unlike previous Security Officers," Alexis commented on. She only warned if it served her. "I did not want to speak to you... I wanted to spar with you." The woman said.

Jake laughed a little. She just couldn't help but read his mind. So typical of her kind. "Couldn't wait to get your hands all over a real man, huh?" he said, stripping off his uniform jacket. "After you decided to cheap shot me last time I guess you're feeling guilty."

"if you see a real man let me know. Been a while since I have seen one." Alexis commented on without missing a beat. She was not feeling guilty at all. "You might call it a cheap shot I call it a lesson taught. We can be friends or enemies and only one of us can be killed without the others life being forfeited."

"There's no such thing as a friend on board an Imperial Starship," he replied, circling a little. "First lesson I learned." He motioned to the small scar, now visible by his collarbone. A memento of his first posting in the fleet. Carelessness had cost him that time. He'd vowed not to allow himself to be so careless again.

"I do not know. I have had some very nice friends." Alexis commented but she knew what he meant she just liked teasing him. It was easy to hide her true feelings of hating how she was no longer able to be a Security Officer thanks to Betazed burning and Imperial Starfleet wanting them for interrogation purposes only.

He was just a few feet away from her now, his fists raised in a ready posture. "Then I hope you taught them the error of their ways," he replied. "'Nice' is a weakness." He feinted forwards, goading her into coming at him.

"I do not see nice as a weakness. I always look very nice when I leave my quarters." The woman commented on. Alexis took the goading and moved forward to counteract him.

Seeing her move Jake lashed out with a vicious punch, connecting with her lower ribs. He pulled back quickly, savouring having landed the first blow. "A pity you're already tired. Might not even break a sweat..."

Alexis did not even make a noise to show it had hurt as she moved forward this time with a kick that hit his thigh. "I am not tired." She assured quietly.

"No doubt." He smarted just a little from the blow to his thigh. Not a dead leg, but he'd have a bruise. "That's-" He hesitated as he noticed something else. Other forms, emerging from the doorway he'd come through. Three Fenrir crewmen. He could see the look in their eyes; the malice brewing. He glanced at Alexis. "Really? You brought some friends along to kill me? I expected more from you."

"They are not my friends," Alexis said looking at the three crewmen. "But they are here to kill you aren't you folks?"

"The witch is correct." The man who seemed to be in the lead said.

"Aww Gregory you were not saying that a few nights back. You quite liked you did not need to tell me what you wanted." Alexis smiled slightly as she moved to where her own items were.

Jake observed her move away. It created space around him - space the trio could exploit. Of course Alexis would leave him to his fate. Why would she help him? He scowled as the men closed in, and pulled his knife from his belt. "I'll have your heads for this, you know."

“I think we will have yours for being in our way Sir” Gregory spat. As the person who was closest to Jake looked like they were going to strike first they dropped dead to the floor a knife in their neck from the interrogator who had thrown it without hesitation.

“I am disappointed that you would think I would leave you to your fate,” Alexis said as if it was only them in the room.

Jake wasn't sure whether to be pleased or angry. For her to aid him meant that he would feel like he owed her. That she would hold it over his head somehow. It wasn't the moment to address that, though. Taking advantage of the distraction he grappled the closest crewman and slammed him to the ground, the blade of his knife buried in the man's chest. He rose quickly to check on the other combatant, who was now outnumbered and outmatched. "I am always pleased to disappoint you," he remarked. "It helps to know you underestimate me."

Alexis just grinned at him as Gregory just left looking at his two crewman both dead on the floor. "Tut tut Greg. Why could you not just be happy with what you had." She wondered moving up to the man looking at him darkly. "I almost what to hear you screaming in a booth." She whispered as the man just stayed deadly still as if he couldn't move. Wether in was mental of physically it was scary to see the man who was pure muscle look at the tiny betazoid in terror.

Jake closed-in, glaring holes in the junior officer. "Pity. Had you attacked me without announcing your presence first, you might have had a chance," he explained. "The booth is too good for you. I'm thinking about letting the Interrogator play around in your head for a while. Maybe turn you into a drooling vegetable for the rest of your miserable existence. What do you think?"

"Please..." Gregory pleaded as he looked at Jake. He would rather die than be that. Alexis stepped closer as she ran a finger along his arm as the man started to make a noise that sounded unearthly. "It... it is not real... it is not real..." He started repeating over and over.

Jake sniffed the air a little. "I'm waiting for him to soil himself," he remarked with a sly grin. "Your choice," he said to Alexis.

"He is already dead," Alexis said coldly. "His death will just be bloodless unlike his companions." Gregory glanced at Jake and paled before he clutched at his chest feeling numb all over. The Security Officer fell to the floor still clutching his chest as he eyes just stared at the pair lifelessly.

Jake savoured the moment of death, fully satisfied with the outcome. Except for one thing. He looked at Alexis. "Your intervention saved me the trouble of killing them myself." He looked at the bodies. "And now I imagine I am to be leashed to you out of some sense of honour. Was this your plan all along?"

Alexis glanced at the man the exhaustion on her face from what she had done evidently in her features. "You would not have survived all three of them." Alexis glanced at Gregory and frowned. It was a shame as he had been quite nice when he was away from his crewmates, he had also kept certain factions away from her. "I have no plans when it comes to you Jake other than you cleaning up this mess whilst I have a shower." Alexis rolled her eyes at him.

His fist closed, about ready to swing. He had to temper it and loosen his knuckles, knowing that he did in fact owe her. And he hated it. "Hmph. More likely I will have them taken away more publicly; serves a better example for anyone else that way." He looked at the bodies. "This was an ambitious attempt, all the same. Perhaps Vriaral wanted to send a message."

"It is not Vriaral's style." The woman assured. "And why did you think of him of all people? Could have been Gregnol, Kline, Saa... You have pissed off quite a few people. Or it could have just been people trying to get themselves known. Gregory is ambitious." She shrugged a little at him as she watched the blood fascinated for a moment.

"Ambitious but not completely stupid. They wouldn't have known you were here." Jake shook his head. "The rest will get what they deserve soon enough."

"Lucky for you then." Alexis murmured thoughtfully. "Unless you are joining me I am going for that shower." She had not been able to discover anyone else involved but it could have been easy to cover tracks but with no other Betazoid's on board, it would be hard for them to cover as well. It could be as simple as they decided to do it but seems, unlike Gregory.

"As thrilling as it would be, I won't," he retorted, as though the idea were abhorrent. "As for our little 'session'," he motioned to where they'd been sparring. "That will have to wait for another time."

"I look forward to it Lieutenant." The woman smirked as she retrieved her processions and headed out. It would certainly be interesting to see what the next session brought. Could anything top what had just happened?
