1066 words - 2.1 OF Standard Post Measure

The room was totally trashed. Windows smashed out, table overturned, chairs smashed to splinters, debris littered every surface. And in the middle, a lone figure, crumbled down to his knees, his uniform in taters, bruises and cuts covering his body. Kyle Reece, Executive Officer to the ISS Fenrir, Flagship of the Terran Empire, was a broken man.

A few hours before, he had recieved a coded subspace message. When he opened it, his heart was ripped out. On the screen was his wife, Commander Lizbeth Mahone-Reece. She was secured to a large X-shaped structure. Her hands and feet spread and secured to the four seperate points. She was also gagged and nude.

Commander Kyle Reece, a disembodied voice said. You have been causing me and my associates a great deal of trouble lately. You have been given warnings. Yet, you continue on as if you feel that there will be no consequences. You are wrong. Hopefully, this demonstration will finally make you see what your true place in the universe is. Enjoy the following video.

On the screen a pair of robotic arms suddenly swung into view. They were black, shining like obsidian. They were also extremely articulated, with a collection of various tools folded against the last section of articulation.

What followed next was beyond horrifying. He stood, transfixed, unable to move, barely breatjing as the woman he loved tmwas systematically slaughtered right before his eyes.

After what seemed like an eternity, the gruesome event ended and the voice returned. Let us hope that no further lessons be required. The screen then went blank and the message self destructed in the computer.

After a few moments of shock, a blinding rage suddenly exploded from derp inside of his core. Like a man possessed, Kyle tore his quarters apart, injuring himself seceral times along the way. But he felt no injury. Nothing filled him more than the instibctual, animalustic rage, seeing his mate killed and being powerless to do anything about it.

Finally, when he had expended all of the rage that he could, he collapsed to the deck, battered, bleeding, hollow inside, void of any thought other than the udea that it would just be easier to end his own life.

Outside in the corridor, Micheal stood vigilant, guarding Kyle's door. He had tried to enter when he first heard the commotion, only to be punished by an electrical shock, from a behavioral device that had been inplanted by the Reece Clan medical personnel, when tgey were busy rebuilding the former bounty hunter. After the shock, Kyle had ordered Micheal to guard the doir and let no one pass unless he allowed it. So, here he stood, guarding tge entrance like a stone golem of myth.

Jake approached boldly, knowing that the XO's lapdog was indeed that: a pet pitbull. Leashed, as no Terran should be. Of course, he brought a couple of his own men - he wasn't a fool to think going alone was wise.

"Your master is causing a stir," he said to the guard on the door.

Micheal was nonplussed by Jake, nor the fact that he had brought backup with him. As he heard them approaching, his internal computer activated an accelerated distribution of adrenaline throughout his body. Should any try to force there way into Kyle's quarters, they would be suprised.

"Commander Reece is not to be distrurbed. Should any, other than the Captain, be bothered by the noise, they will jyst have to deal with it." His tone was relaxed and sure, as if he was discussing the weather.

The silence in the corridor was broken but one of the security officers commented on the Interrogator that was walking down the corridor. Gregnol had obviously sent backup in the form of the dark haired woman. She looked not even bothered by the scene or male ego that was spiking.

“Look at this little scene. The Captain is bothered by it as is the rest of the ship so let us in or I reduce you to a quivering urine soaked mess on the floor.” Alexis said simply not giving any indication which way mentally or physically she was going to do it. Before she had become nothing but an interrogator she had been Ford and very good at it. She had not lost her abilities with just becoming what Betazoids were now.

Micheal was about to reply when suddenly, he jerked his head so his right ear faced the door. His red eye slowly blinked a few beats. Then, it went solid and he tured his head back forward. "Apologies, Ma'am. Commander Reece just informed me that he respectfully requests that Interrogator Alexis Agrax join him inside. Mister Ford and the rest of his....team...are ordered back to their stations."

"The Captain ordered us here. Commander Reece has no control over any of this anymore. You destroy part of his ship. The Captain gets a bit touchy. I think we should all be glad he had shown a little kindness and sent me instead of Fenruse," Alexis said simply dismissing him as she moved to the door terminal. She looked back at Ford waiting for him to decide if he was going to come with her or listen to the order from the bodyguard.

Jake smirked a little at the guard. Not only was this his ship, he also had an inquisitor with him. Alexis had shown at least once she would back the security chief in a pinch. He felt supremely confident.

"Move aside. These bars on my sleeve mean I'm the only one with any real power here," he said to the guard. "And if you lay a hand on me or my men, you'll spend a weekend in an agony booth."

“Or Lieutenant Saa will.” Alexis said bored as she moved towards the door pressing the door chime. The more they messed about the more annoyed the Captain would become in getting a report from the noise and damage that had been assumed from this compartment.

Suddenly, the door opened, and Kyle stepped out into tge corridor, his uniform shredded, cuts and bruises covering most of his body. "Micheal, stand down and leave." He stepped right up to Jake. "Happy? You've seen me at my worst. Want to press charges for disturbing the peace? Go ahead."
